This was my first time having a consultation at a plastic surgery clinic, and especially because the surgical area was my breasts, there was something burdensome about going to the consultation alone, so when I booked my first 2 consultations, I deliberately booked places with female directors! I first went to consultations at 2 places with female directors, and then additionally went to 2 more places, but for me, the one I felt most drawn to was Director Yoo Hyo-kyung at ㄷㅅㅎ, where I had my first consultation!!
It’s not a cheap surgery, and because it is surgery, I felt that my own comfort was the most important thing!! The director’s explanation was calm, and she clearly conveyed only what was necessary. As a fellow woman, rather than feeling like doctor versus patient, the biggest merit seemed to be that she empathized and communicated with me!!
In terms of the hospital system too, the consultant didn’t pressure me, so I think that made me feel comfortable comparing other places as well. And because it’s a large and well-known hospital with breast surgery specialists and anesthesiology specialists on site, and with extensive postoperative aftercare, I think I felt trust in it!
