Nose Re-Surgery

I have something I'm curious about

I'm thinking of using diced autologous rib cartilage for the nasal bridge, and from what I found, the disadvantages are

1. It can become uneven and be absorbed 2. It can calcify

I think that's about it, but are there any others? And if cartilage is harvested from the rib, ground up, and placed in the nasal bridge, can that cartilage also calcify? If so, what exactly is the issue?

I currently have donated rib cartilage, and it's been nearly 10 years since it calcified, but I haven't had any major problems. The hospital also says calcification isn't a problem, so I'm curious. Please let me know.
