Before Corneal thickness varied a little with each eye exam, but both eyes were around 530-540. Pupil size was 7, so I’m rich in pupil size.. Since my eyes were extremely bad, I didn’t even consider LASIK or SMILE LASIK, and only looked into LASEK. It was a while ago, but these days the trend seems to be Contoura and personalized LASIK. My corneal topography was fairly even, so I boldly chose regular all-laser.
I got eye exams at about 3 ophthalmology clinics and decided. I went to Clear Seoul, B&Bit, and ID, then decided on the first one, Clear Seoul. 1. Is it all-laser surgery? 2. Minimize corneal ablation 3. The surgical machine must be EX500 StreamLight 4. Is the price reasonable? I got an app discount, paid 1.18 million won in full, and had the surgery. Clear Seoul is a clinic that gives lots of discounts, so there were really many people.. Maybe because of that, the consultation with the doctor was very brief, so I couldn’t have a deep conversation. I wish they had explained things in more detail.. I recommend studying the eyes a lot, studying refractive surgery a lot, making a list of questions, and definitely asking them.. (Compare surgical methods suited to corneal topography, the relationship between pupil size and optical zone, all-laser is not always good; brush LASEK also has pros and cons, so compare those things, etc. There are not just one or two things to consider.) Of course, in conclusion I’m satisfied now, but one thing I regret a little is that because my pupils are large, I should have had a wider optical zone, but it ended up being smaller than my pupil size (the ablation range for the optical zone was cut at 6.0), so I have to live with that much glare/halos.. Of course, my pupils were originally large and I had severe astigmatism, so my sensitivity is on the lower side, but it’s disappointing. If they had explained these parts in a little more detail, I could have adjusted it, so there is some regret.
Post-surgery review People say it hurts, and for real, until days 2-3 my eyes hurt like crazy, to the point I wondered if this was normal.. After about 3-4 days, the pain became tolerable. Until week 2, it was hard to see small letters.. My focus wouldn’t settle and the letters were blurry. After a month, daily life was comfortably possible to some extent. These days I have almost no dryness, and except for a little nighttime glare/halos, I’m very satisfied. It’s so good that I often think I should’ve done it earlier.
