8 years ago, I had a hump osteotomy, and since my nasal bridge was already very high, they placed less than 1 mm of silicone (L-shaped) and did the nasal tip with ear cartilage.
My skin is thin, so even though the bridge showed two straight lines and even though it was a straight nose, I just lived with it more or less okay. But a while ago I bumped my nose, and after getting a nosebleed from both nostrils, inflammation developed. I looked around here and there and scheduled revision surgery with a director I liked. Open approach, no implant, using the septum, with a straight-to-slightly-curved nasal tip line~
But!! On the 24th, the day of surgery, my goodness, the inflammation was so severe that they couldn’t do the revision surgery and only removed the L-shaped silicone and capsule (closed approach). The nasal tip was fine, so the ear cartilage remains.
I had said that I had a hump osteotomy during my first surgery, but they said there was still a hump, so while removing it, they slightly rasped it down.
My current nose shape is okay, but the nasal bridge is still soft, and I had a follow-up check today, and they said there is still inflammation ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ The director said it was the first time they had seen a case with this much pus... (When I was going around for consultations for my first surgery, there was also a director who said it was the first time they had seen such a short columella... So I was told things like I would need some kind of skin graft on the columella, and because the glabellar nasal bridge was way too high, it would need to be shaved down, and this and that .... I’ve heard comments like that too -_-)
Anyway, until revision surgery, they said they’ll keep managing it, and if another inflammation surgery is needed, they’ll do it ㅠㅠ And after all the swelling goes down, if the nasal bridge is uneven, they’ll fill it with filler... They said they’ll manage it like this until revision surgery becomes possible.
When I touch my nasal bridge now, the middle is sunken, and I guess that’s where the silicone was -_- Anyway, the inflammation really needs to go away, but I’m under so much stress... Why won’t it disappear? ㅠ0ㅠ
For those who have had surgery, if you bump your nose, go straight to the hospital where you had surgery and get it checked, and make sure to take antibiotics!! I asked a quack ENT doctor near my office whether this wasn’t inflammation, but he kept saying it wasn’t, so I lost a month and the inflammation only got worse, and now I’m going through all this trouble.
