Before<before orthodontics (only the front teeth protruded)>After<one month before finishing orthodontics (lower teeth also visible)>When I was a student, I had to go to the dentist regularly. The dentist said my teeth would collapse if I didn’t get orthodontic treatment (that was the expression they used, but I think it meant my dentition would deteriorate and cause trouble when I got older), so I ended up doing extraction orthodontics for 2 years. The advantages are that you can clearly see the teeth being corrected, and my side profile improved. My original face had a protruding mouth where only the upper teeth stuck out when I smiled + an underdeveloped jaw that made my small lower teeth look like a retruded chin. And the dry mouth while sleeping also disappeared!!! As my front teeth moved in, I stopped sleeping with my mouth open. The disadvantages are that it takes a long time, brushing is inconvenient, and since I had wire braces, the inside of my mouth tore often. Also, as my gums receded, my philtrum became longer.. Especially because my gums receded, I feel like my teeth will fall out early when I get older.
For orthodontics, I really!! recommend doing it only for medical purposes like me. Don’t do it for cosmetic purposes and regret it when you get older
