<Septal cartilage, silicone removal>After<5 hours after surgery>Hello. It feels like it was just the other day that I was going around to consultations, not feels like, it actually was the other day.. lolololol I went to several places, but none really resonated with me, so I ended up having removal surgery on the earliest available date, 3/18 (Wed), at the place I had visited first! After coming back, I was bored and also in a good mood, so I’ll leave a review!

■Hospital Visit■ Reservation at 11:30 a.m.; arrived 20 minutes early, changed clothes, and washed my face first. Removed all accessories. The hospital gown? patient gown was pretty;; The treatment room was clean. There was a consultation patient in the time slot before me, so I waited in the treatment room until 11:30.
■Consultation With the Director■ Went in for the final consultation with the director before surgery. Since I went with my mom, we went into the consultation together. (My mom had a consultation for filler removal.)
First, since I was deciding between closed removal / open removal / open removal plus correction of a deviated nose, he asked whether I would do closed or open. For now, I said absolutely closed, remove everything!! and after thinking it over, I asked him to tie the alar cartilage just slightly. Everything I requested and what the doctor explained (possibility of side effects) was written on the surgical consent form, and I signed it.
My mom said a lot of this and that about my nose from beside me, but the doctor blocked it off, saying my opinion and decision were important lololol Anyway, I think the consultation took quite a while.
■Before Surgery Started■ I waited in the treatment room, made the payment, and not long after entered the operating room... I started getting nervous. The manager guided me and said the consultation had taken longer than expected, so they would proceed quickly. (ㅠㅠ) I went straight to the operating table, lay down, had my feet secured, and had a needle inserted into the inner side of my left forearm. They said they would make an incision in the right nostril, so I briefly wondered if that was why they put it in my left forearm.
It was less scary than right before a roller coaster drops, but I was extremely, extremely afraid and scared. The beeping of my heart rate sounded like at least 100 bpm;
I remembered one last thing I wanted to ask, so when the doctor came in, before anesthesia, I quickly asked. It was, “When you reposition the cartilage, can you make the lateral alar cartilages symmetrical?” As expected, this doctor did not give a definite answer and explained various possibilities. It could look asymmetric because it was pushed by the silicone, deformity or damage of the lateral alar cartilage... etc. Anyway, I told him that even if it wasn’t possible, please do the best he could, then the anesthetic went in, I got groggy... and slept deeply..
■After Surgery Ended■ When I woke up, the operating room had been tidied up; my eyes were open, but I was hazy, dizzy, and cold. I was trembling, and the manager helped me up. When I went to the recovery room, my mom welcomed me ㅠㅠ I think the surgery took 2 hours.
The manager told my mom to keep talking to me because sleeping makes swelling worse, then left. So I kept chatting with my mom, and the anesthesia wore off almost completely.
Before going home, I talked with the doctor about the surgery, and the cartilage and silicone were smaller than expected. I had thought my nasal tip had been very hard and the bridge was also high all this time, so it was surprising. The septal cartilage had been used after being chopped into small pieces, and even all put together it was only about the size of a fingernail. The silicone was thin enough to be translucent. They had said the thinnest one was placed, and it really seems that was true.;; I had seen so many reviews where what came out was different from what people had known, so I wondered if that would happen to me too, but thankfully it didn’t.
Most importantly, I’m “satisfied” with my nose shape after surgery. Maybe because there hadn’t been much inside, it didn’t change drastically.. With the sharp nasal tip cleaned up, I think it became natural and pretty. The doctor said the nose shape right after surgery is almost the final form. Inside, I was cheering, but I couldn’t show it because I was afraid my nose would hurt if I smiled broadly. And he said that because my skin is extremely thin, once the swelling goes down later, I’ll be able to feel the alar cartilage at the nasal tip. I remember being able to feel it to some extent even in my original nose.
At the counter, I received postoperative precautions, picked up medication at the pharmacy, and came home. On the way home, it gradually started swelling. But if I wear a mask up to under my eyes, it doesn’t show. When I got home, the swelling on both sides of the nasal bridge was asymmetric, and the nasal tip also started swelling asymmetrically. Right now, bruising has appeared on both sides and the center of the nasal bridge, and the gauze on the nasal tip is still in place. It’s starting to throb a bit, so I think I should take medicine.
