Before <before surgery> After <after surgery> Just like the title says, I decided to have surgery in my 30s and went through with it just like thatㅠ Actually, I’m embarrassed to even say I’m in my 30s because I’m not even in my early 30s.. Even though I kept thinking that having surgery at this age just to become prettier was foolish, I couldn’t let go of my lingering feelings..
Since my early 20s, I had been hung up on facial contouring surgery, and after thinking and thinking about it, in the end, I went and did it at this age ㅠ But even after I made up my mind and had already paid the deposit, I kept changing my mind, and because I’m older, I was so worried about sagging skin, elasticity, and side effects. Even on the day of surgery, I said I was too scared and asked them to cancel the surgery, but after consulting with the director again, I barely calmed down and had the surgery that day....
Now that I’ve actually done it, I regret it so much. Not because of the surgical result, but because I wish I had done it earlier. I should have done it in my early 20s, when I was prettier and things were going better... If I had, maybe my self-esteem would have gone up a little.. Maybe I would have been a little more confident and loved myself more.. Those thoughts come to mind, and it feels disappointing. Even at this age, the effect is this noticeable, so I wonder what it would have been like in my early 20s, and I find myself feeling lingering regret again.
I was never someone with particularly high self-esteem to begin with, but as I got older, it got worse.. When my depression got severe, I even walked around with my head down.. When my friends saw me after a long time, they asked how I could even think of having such a major surgery and said I was tough.. haha I know.. I kind of agree too.. But when my friends still complimented me, saying I got prettier and that my face looked smaller, my mood improved quickly.
In the past, I once asked in this community whether it was okay to have surgery at this age, and everyone said there’s no age limit for getting prettier or for plastic surgery haha These days, when I look in the mirror, I really feel that those words were true.. When I went for my follow-up with the director, he said the swelling hasn’t all gone down yet, and once it fully goes down by 6 months, my face will become even slimmer.
Because of my age, I worried a lot that the swelling or recovery might be slow, but luckily, after about three difficult days, by around day 5 I looked somewhat human again. Actually, I kind of liked how I looked then too, since my face was plump and I looked a bit younger..
Please understand that my writing is long-winded because I’m not good at writing, and I hope this helps even a little for people who had a lot of worries like me.
