6-month review

Everyone, you’re all being careful about COVID, right? I left a review around 10 days after double-jaw surgery, and before I knew it, more than half a year had passed, so I’m writing a review again after a long time!! haha I had already experienced facial asymmetry correction and orthodontic treatment because of facial asymmetry and a protruding mouth, and while going through that process, I was often told that my midface looked longer and that I looked older, so I ended up having double-jaw surgery. I worked hard researching online and visiting famous oral and maxillofacial surgery clinics, university hospitals, and so on. The more I learned through consultations, the more scared I became, so even after going to consultations I kept worrying and hesitating, but in the end I had the surgery. It was definitely not a surgery I decided on easily, and as a result, my current satisfaction is so, so good, with people around me saying I look younger and that my face has really gotten smaller. Even just looking at the before-and-after CT photos, I can really feel that the midface has shortened!! After surgery, I felt the major swelling start to go down around the 3-month mark! I thought it must all be gone now, but even now at 6 months, the swelling is still continuing to go down!! Scar tissue inside the mouth and chewing food were uncomfortable until week 4, but now there is none of that at all~ I was anxious that my mouth might not open, but after 3 months, I’ve been yawning and sneezing comfortably like usual. The hospital told me to practice opening my mouth, and although I did not do it especially diligently, now that more than 6 months have passed, my mouth opens well enough for four fingers to fit in haha I visit the hospital once a month to check my progress, and I don’t think I have any other anxiety right now! Except for... COVID... Now I can chew hard foods well too, and I’m eating all the foods I couldn’t eat before. It’s so nice ^_^ Then I’ll watch a little longer, and if it gets even better, I’ll leave another review. Please be careful of COVID!!
