It was my first double-eyelid surgery, and I had natural adhesion with non-incisional ptosis correction. My eyelid skin is a bit saggy, so other hospitals recommended incision, but the doctor said buried sutures would work too, so I had the surgery..
It's been a little over 3 weeks since surgery, and because of eye tightness when looking straight ahead, eyes that still look sleepy despite ptosis correction, asymmetrical lines, thick upper eyelids, and several other issues, I went for a consultation to undo the double-eyelid surgery.
The consultant, hospital staff, and whoever the nurse was who removed the stitches were extremely unfriendly, and treated me like a difficult patient, as if I came to the hospital because I couldn't even wait 6 months when all I had to do was wait ㅋㅋ
The hospital just keeps insisting on 6 months no matter what, but when there are side effects like this around the 1-month mark, both functional and cosmetic, I've almost never heard of cases getting better. (If it's only because of swelling, you can wait and see. Swelling can go down.) In the end, I've seen too many cases where all the adhesions form and people have no choice but to get revision surgery after 6 months.. And because the eye tightness is interfering with daily life, I don't want to put up with it anymore, so I'm trying to undo it.
If you go to the hospital because of double-eyelid surgery side effects or dissatisfaction, they shove before-and-after photos at you and act like, "You've become this pretty, so what's the problem?" But that before photo somehow looks exaggeratedly worse, and the after photo has this vibe of somehow looking prettier. When I look at photos of my eyes on my phone camera, the difference is definitely not that much.
Only after my double-eyelid surgery failed am I searching for the hospital in this community.. Reviews here aren't something you can trust completely either, but the hospital where I had surgery, which had nothing but praise on plastic surgery apps, has a terribly low rating here ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I should've looked earlier...
I shouldn't have thought lightly of it just because it was buried-suture surgery and supposedly simple. For now, after undoing it and returning to my original eyes, I'm thinking of trying revision surgery years later..
