Double eyelid surgery consultation review

Since this will be my first double eyelid surgery ever, I’m really torn and wanted to share information together, so I’m posting my consultation reviews! I visited 6 places in total.

My condition: female in my late 20s, first eye surgery, severe protruding eyes with multiple eyelid creases, slightly sunken upper eyelids, sleepy-looking eyes, pepe-eye vibe + intense-looking eyes, eyes are already widely open in all directions and large

My desired look: in-out line, no intense-looking vibe, absolutely natural, brought celebrity photos with in-out lines

1. ㄴㅅㅎ(ㄱㅈㅎ)/ incision + ptosis correction + fat repositioning + fat grafting - Wait time about 40 minutes (not that long) - The consultation manager was a woman and made me feel comfortable. She explained things well, but I did feel it was somewhat salesy (could just be my misunderstanding) - The doctor seemed trustworthy and explained things well. He said that because my eyes themselves are protruding, traces of the multiple creases could remain even after surgery, and recommended upper eyelid fat repositioning and fat grafting. He also asked about my thyroid test history, saying that sometimes the eyes protrude when the thyroid is not healthy. However, I didn’t really like the eye position he marked out, and it didn’t feel like he was addressing exactly what bothered me. I also felt like he didn’t really understand my eyes, so I wasn’t drawn to it. - Consultation fee: none - Price in the mid-2 million KRW range if booking the same day, mid-3 million KRW range otherwise - Sedation anesthesia + local anesthesia

2. ㄹㅇㄹ(ㅇㅈㅇ)/ incision + upper eyelid fat repositioning + ptosis correction - Wait time about 1 hour - The staff informed me in advance that the consultation wait is long here - While waiting in the consultation room, a staff member suddenly came out and told me to leave the consultation room (didn’t tell me why). Then about 10 minutes later, they told me to go back in. It felt a bit like, huh? - The consultation manager was average; she explained things decently, but subtly asked whether I had gone to many consultations and where I had been. At the time I had only been to one place, so I just said I had gone to a few. - The doctor spent more time with me compared to the first consultation. So it felt like he was examining me carefully. He checked several possible lines and the explanation was similar to the first place. He said that because I have protruding eyes that form multiple creases, upper eyelid fat repositioning is necessary, but I don’t lack enough eye fat to need fat grafting. He also said the ptosis correction would be done naturally, mainly on the weaker areas of my eyelid-opening strength, balancing the front part of the left eye and the back part of the right eye without making it too strong. I also didn’t really like the line he marked here, so I put it on hold. - Consultation fee: none - Regular price in the mid-3 million KRW range, late-2 million KRW range with review writing - Sedation anesthesia fee is separate - Sedation anesthesia + local anesthesia

3. ㄴㄴ(ㄱㅎㅈ)/ incision + upper eyelid fat repositioning - Wait time 1.5 hours - The building itself is this plastic surgery clinic’s building - Kind of felt like a factory-style clinic - I waited for quite a while at the 2nd-floor counter, and then waited alone in the consultation room for over 30 minutes too. Even seeing the consultation manager was hard. - The consultation manager was just so-so. Honestly I don’t remember much, but the one thing I remember is that during the consultation after the doctor’s consultation, she asked, “You don’t need canthoplasty?” My eyes are already open in every direction, so I wondered why she would say that. - The doctor was a woman and gave the same explanation after looking at my eyes, but only recommended upper eyelid fat repositioning and said the rest wasn’t particularly necessary. As expected, I didn’t really like the position she marked. She looked a few times and then just left. - Consultation fee: none - Price in the low-1 million KRW range

4. ㄱㄹㅂ(ㅈㅈㅈ)/ incision + slight ptosis correction - Wait time about 20 minutes - The consultation manager was kind and gave a good impression. She only said what was necessary, so I could have the consultation without pressure. - The doctor was young and also kind. He examined me very carefully and only recommended the parts he thought were necessary. He said I need incision because of my multiple eyelid creases, and that only slight ptosis correction should be included. He said the front of my eyes has weak eyelid-opening strength, so only that area would be corrected lightly. He made a lot of effort to look very closely while I opened and closed my eyes, and he explained well too. Other clinics had said I need upper eyelid fat repositioning, so I asked about that too. He said my eyes look sunken because of the protruding eyes, not because I lack that much upper eyelid fat (I’m honestly so confused right now about what’s correct). For the first time, I liked the double eyelid position he pinched out. - Consultation fee: none - Regular price was maybe in the late-2 million KRW range? I don’t remember well. Low-2 million KRW range with review writing - Sedation anesthesia + local anesthesia

5. ㅇㅇㅋ(ㅇㅎㅅ)/ non-incisional suture method - Wait time around 1.5 hours - The counter staff were somehow subtly unfriendly - Took the photos needed for consultation - The consultation manager was just average, but also subtly unfriendly - The doctor said my eyes can absolutely never become an in-out line. He said my eyes themselves can only end up as an outline, and told me to just do one non-incisional line. He said that would still be enough. I didn’t really like the position he pinched out either, and he left after saying only that. Including the consultations I had in another region a few years ago, this was the first time anyone recommended the non-incisional method to me.. - Consultation fee: none - Price in the low-1 million KRW range

6. ㅌㅇㅅ(ㅇㅅㄱ)/ incision + ptosis correction + upper eyelid fat repositioning - Wait time 1.5 hours - The wait for the manager consultation after the doctor’s consultation was longer than the wait for the doctor’s consultation - The manager was kind - The doctor was completely spot-on. My needs and the doctor’s view matched exactly. Even before I showed the photos, the doctor said these eyes absolutely have to go with an in-out line, and that even a double eyelid height that is standard for others could look excessive on me, so we need to go lower than standard. I liked the position he marked, and he also showed me how after double eyelid surgery, fat would cover this position and this area would be lowered to create it like this. He basically seems very knowledgeable about protruding eyes. I was very satisfied with the consultation. - Consultation fee: 20,000 KRW - I was very satisfied with the consultation, but dissatisfied with the price, sigh Regular price over 5 million KRW, late-3 million KRW range with review conditions. Maybe she read my expression, but the manager told me that my eyes don’t necessarily have to be done by the head representative doctor and could be done by someone else. But even if I get it done by that person, I don’t know whether they would match my needs, so I’m putting it on hold for now.

I’m really torn, so please share your opinions, everyoneㅠㅠ
