I had 3 types of contouring, cortical bone reduction, masseter reduction, and chin bone grafting at S.S.Y, and since it's almost been a year, I'm writing a review.
Up until 6 months, because of the swelling, it looked no different from before surgery and there seemed to be hardly any change, so I was anxious and very stressed. I got really upset with the consultant and director, asking whether more should have been cut... haha On top of that, I was very anxious that it only looked round because of the swelling, and once all the swelling went down, my cheekbones would stand out more and I would end up with the same peanut-shaped face. But the director told me that if they cut more from here, it would become an overly pointed jaw, and the cheekbones had already been moved in as much as possible so they couldn't be moved in further. They said that when the pins are removed, if I feel it is necessary then, they could do additional cortical osteotomy or a bit more 45-degree shaving, and that the areas I was worried about could also be improved with fat grafting or lifting lasers, etc. That really reduced my anxiety at the time..ㅠㅠ Honestly, while researching a lot, I had heard there are many directors who ignore patients' post-surgery anxieties, so I was really worried. But the director at S.S.Y reassured me by explaining ways to ease the areas I was worried about, so I was able to get out of that anxiety a lot ㅠㅠ Now the swelling has gone down much more than back then, and I can feel that my square jawline is very different from before. To the point that I feel truly sorry for whining back then..ㅠㅠㅠ As the director said before surgery, my face shape would become round, and it did become round. I did hope for a slim doll-like line and a face shape where the cheekbones looked completely gone, but my facial contour was originally so strong that I'm very grateful just that it became roundㅠㅠ Now I definitely feel the difference from before, and I'm satisfied just that no one sees my face as squareㅠㅠ For 6 months I was anxious and kept whining to the consultant about my worries, but the consultant calmly reassured me ㅠㅠ Thinking about it now, I feel so sorry ㅠㅠ Before surgery, I had read many reviews about the jaw becoming indented, dimpling forming, having nosebleeds after surgery, throat pain, and so on, so I was extremely anxious. But honestly, after contouring, other than the expected swelling and sagging, I felt almost no discomfort at all, so I once again felt that a director from Seoul National University really is different. Now I just need to manage sagging well ㅠㅠ I didn't have to write a review, but the reason I went out of my way to write one is to provide information to people who, like me, are seriously considering facial contouring surgery and need information. I got results that made me absolutely not regret the surgery, and I think you can really trust the director's skill and entrust your face to them, so I'm posting this review. I feel the safety is the best, and for people like me who worry a lot about safety, I highly recommend S.S.Y ㅠㅠ Additionally, I think it would be good to have your parents by your side on the day of surgery. After surgery, I wasn't sure if something got in my eye, but my eye kept hurting and it was uncomfortable. The nurse was unfriendly, so I felt like I had to be careful..ㅠㅠ
