Last August, while correcting a hump and a crooked nose, I used autologous rib cartilage to raise the nasal bridge and nasal tip.
After the surgery, maybe from around November, it wasn’t visible when viewed from the right side, but when viewed from the left, something looked pointy and protruding, so I thought it was swelling. I didn’t really know.
But as December and January came, it started to look completely white and protruding.. So it’s really bothering me, and I heard they place autologous rib cartilage higher because it may be absorbed and to prevent warping, but it seems too high and doesn’t suit my face, so I’m considering revision surgery.
Honestly, because my nose is so stiff, I’m constantly conscious of itㅠㅠ I regret not just shaving down the nasal bone from the beginning and doing only the nasal tip with ear cartilage. When I think about the possibility that it could bend someday as I get older or become visible again, I feel like I’ll go crazy with anxiety, so I’m leaning more toward removal..
This February, I’m going in to check the 6-month surgical result, and I’m planning to bring it up.
1. If they open it because of the visibility and remove it while they’re at it, could the nasal bridge bone where the rib cartilage had been placed have become lower than before because of the weight? (Really important..! I’m curious)
2. After removing the rib cartilage from the nasal bridge and nasal tip, could I redo only the nasal tip with ear cartilage to match my original basic nasal bridge height? Of course I’ll need to consult with the doctor, but I’m curious whether it’s possible..!
