Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-review

Rhinoplasty,, review 3 years later (reason for surgery, pros and cons, etc.)

After**For reference, the photos after surgery were taken with the iPhone default camera***no app

I had rhinoplasty around July-August 2020,, and while looking into posterior lower canthoplasty because I wanted to become even a little prettier lol, I ended up writing this review I saw everyone speaking casually,, so from here on I’ll speak casually too

1. Reason for surgery My confidence in my appearance dropped sharply

2. Review I think photos are the most direct review,,! Low nose + arrow-shaped nose when smiling --> surgery completed using silicone + ear cartilage..! (I added files while writing this post now, but I don’t know how the photo placement will appear,,!)

3. Pros My nose was originally low, so whenever I took photos my face looked broad and flat, but after getting my nose done, my face looks smaller, and it looks much smaller in photos too I don’t know if this is a pro or a con, but I changed from a purely baby-faced(?) look to a mature and sophisticated look (according to friends..) lol I dislike overdone surgery and wanted a natural surgery that no one would notice, so that’s what I did, and I’m satisfied with the result. My confidence, which was the reason for surgery in point 1, also recovered People around me: before surgery: Do you really need to do it? Don’t do it. Just live with the face you were born with. Don’t make life uncomfortable after surgery: It turned out well. I see why people get plastic surgery. I think you’re much prettier

4. Cons The cons are what made me decide to write this post Honestly, before rhinoplasty, I think I and everyone else searches for side effects at least once and goes into surgery with some level of acceptance, so I’ll talk about the everyday-life drawbacks I feel - Daily-life inconvenience: less than expected - Breathing: I do have rhinitis, but I used to breathe well through both sides. After rhinoplasty, maybe the nasal bridge shifted a bit to one side, but one nostril gets blocked easily. So when I catch a cold or my nose gets stuffy, that side blocks first and it gets uncomfortable. When I went for a follow-up one month after surgery and told the doctor, he said one side of my nose had originally been a bit deviated...but before that I breathed just fine lol. Still, I think the shape turned out well.. A doctor pretty famous as a nose specialist.. Are you doing well..? (But after rhinoplasty, during weeks 1-2 they tell you to sleep lying straight on your back, but I kept unknowingly sleeping on my side, so I do think it may have bent that way when the nasal bridge was unstable.. Actually, the side I slept on a lot is the side that gets blocked easily. But when my nose is blocked, if I lie on my side facing the opposite direction, it opens up again. When I’m standing or sitting there isn’t much discomfort, but only when I’m lying down one nostril gets blocked, and I’m not sure why) - Blackheads: I guess I really had almost no blackheads before, because when I first had surgery the blackheads exploded, and now I have quite a lot.. I’m scared, so I can’t really squeeze them.. I just diligently squeeze the side area? with cotton swabs, not the elevated part where the silicone is lol - Picking my nose: I used to kind of enjoy picking my nose..but my finger doesn’t go in well lol only one joint of my pinky can go inㅠㅠ And honestly I’m also scared, so I can’t really pick it well.. Now if I need to clean deep inside my nose, I use a cotton swab - Facial tightness (added detail): Until about one or two months, when I smiled, the part where the bridge was built up near the columella pulled a bit...so I had to smile carefully.. It’s not that my face would get ruined because of smiling, but when I laughed broadly it bothered me so much

5. If I could go back, would I get rhinoplasty again? ==> yes First of all, I think personal satisfaction is the biggest factor. As I said in the cons, if you can live with those small inconveniences --> this is my experience and I recommend getting surgery If you hate even a little inconvenience --> I recommend not doing it Personally, I recommend going to a famous doctor who only does rhinoplasty.. I think satisfaction is high.

6. Things to be careful about (mindset) Hospitals say swelling lasts about 2 weeks before surgery, but in reality you have to watch it for up to 6 months. Even if you drink pumpkin juice and walk diligently, it’s the same. It only makes the pace a bit faster Month 1: My face changed so much that I regretted the surgery.. Should I ask them to remove the silicone even now? (Though this is also the time when my friends said it looked fairly okay but my face had changed a lot) --> During this period, I browsed this community a lot, and I saw many people asking to have the silicone removed only 2 weeks to 1 month after surgery. At first the swelling is severe, so I think you just need a time of endurance..a lot of it.. Month 2: You adapt a bit and it seems okay, but there’s still lingering swelling.. I hate my face.. (Actually, around two months after surgery I met a close male friend, and he asked if I had put a bead in my nose lol because the nasal tip was still extremely swollen lol) 2.5-3 months: Satisfaction suddenly rises.. I don’t really remember my old face well, and I feel like at this point the surgery was a success. Month 4: Completely satisfied, my face has returned a lot to its old look in its own way, and it feels like only my nose got higher. Months 5-6: I forgot my old face. Looking at old photos, I thought it was ruined, but I put myself through emotional stress lol that’s what I thought to myself. Friends I met after 6 months: Friends who don’t know me that well don’t really know I had rhinoplasty (I think this is because I asked them to make it as natural as possible) *The swelling in the nasal tip goes down far more than expected. Not long after removing the splint, there is no need to think it looks like a pig nose, an upturned nose, or Avatar. The nasal tip keeps coming down without end

7. To friends who like drinking I thought I didn’t like alcohol, but after surgery I realized I do like alcohol. I wanted to drink so badly. (Before, I drank about half a bottle to one bottle of soju once every 1-2 weeks.) Still, to prevent inflammation, I hope you abstain from alcohol for at least 2 months. The people around me who developed inflammation were people who drank alcohol and smoked starting 2 weeks after surgery,, Honestly, to put it bluntly, it’s my face that I have to live with for the rest of my life, so I think abstaining from alcohol is indescribably important compared with suffering from inflammation because you couldn’t hold back a momentary desire.. If you can’t hold back from drinking, please don’t get surgery..

8. Closing I wrote things down as they came to mind, so please use it as reference, and if you have questions, leave a comment hehe
