It has been about 3 weeks since the surgery, and I can even wear makeup and go out now! There is still swelling left in my cheeks, so I look like I have a candy in my mouth (But if my image used to be a bit sharp, I think it has become a little softer) Still, since I wear a mask these days, unless someone looks closely, they can't really tell So I've been walking a lot, just as the doctor told me It hasn't even been a month yet, so if I wait longer, the swelling will go down, right I still can't open my mouth very wide, so I searched it up and it seems there are a lot of people like me who open slowly So I'm doing mouth-opening exercises within a reasonable range I want the swelling to go down quickly so I can stuff my mouth full of food and eat
Right after the surgery, the swelling in the beginning was honestly much worse than it is now One day I woke up, and my eyes were so swollen I couldn't open them, and my face felt hot too, so I spent the whole day at home just doing ice compresses I was told to eat liquid food until day 3, so I kept drinking soy milk I also took my medicine, so even though the swelling was severe, there was no pain And I made sure to gargle morning and night too
After about a week? I started eating regular meals! I also brushed my teeth with a baby toothbrush! Since I started eating all the things I hadn't been able to eat, I was eating quite often, so I brushed more often too After the stitches were removed, I got injections and laser treatment, and went for walks, so the swelling went down a lot, but the inside of my mouth was still very swollen and I still looked like I had a candy in my mouth
Around the two-week mark, I went to the clinic for a follow-up check, laser treatment, and a swelling-reducing pack During the follow-up, the doctor looked at me and said the swelling hadn't gone down as much as expected, then told me I needed to walk a lot and do mouth-opening exercises too ㅡㅜ And I also had a CT scan and looked at the before-and-after comparison, and it was clear that the jaw had become smaller and the line had been refined. The doctor said I had some bumpy areas on my jaw, explained how the surgery had been done, and said the surgery turned out really well For care, I had laser treatment (radiofrequency, light therapy) and a swelling-reducing pack for about an hour in total. What was amazing was that the before-and-after difference seemed to show up right away. When I touch my face with my hands, I can feel the swelling going down Seeing the before-and-after difference on the CT images makes me want the swelling to go down quickly so I can see with my own eyes that my face has gotten smaller!!!
