I looked things up in a community and got advice, so I even changed hospitals at the last minute and made a careful decision about my rhinoplasty.
My nasal bridge wasn’t extremely low, but my nasal tip was very low, and it was a bulbous nose that gave a long and broad-looking impression.
With the doctor, I mentioned two things: changing my long nose into a shorter-looking nose (because I felt a long nose made me look older), and lifting the nasal tip so that my mouth would look a bit more set back when viewed from the side.
They said they used septal cartilage to do surgery on the nasal support and nasal tip (filling the gap that forms when the nasal bridge and tip are raised?). They didn’t take cartilage from my ear, phew.
It’s only day 5, so I’m going to have the splint removed in a few days. I thought I’d bruise a lot after surgery, but I’m happy because there isn’t much bruising or swelling... They said the nasal tip will come down a bit, and although I haven’t had the splint removed yet, my mouth also looks more set back, so I don’t know what it is lol but I’m satisfied.
I’m so glad I found this community after only looking at cosmetic surgery apps.
- I had the splint removed. They told me the nasal tip looks thick because it’s very swollen, so I’m going to try not to get impatient and just wait! After removing the splint, I can see bruising too... I still don’t really know whether it turned out well or not. Once the swelling along the side line goes down, my nose should get a bit smaller, right?
