Before/after Since I was young, my upturned nose was a complex, and my nicknames were Zhu Bajie and flower pig. It felt like other people were only looking at my nose, and after the pandemic, I even felt disappointed about taking off my mask. But I was busy, and side effects or aftercare after rhinoplasty felt burdensome, so I put it aside. After leaving my job, I had more free time and was looking into silicone rhinoplasty when I learned about alar reduction and lift, so I had the surgery right on the consultation day. The consultant did not say, “You should definitely do it, there will be no problem,” but explained in detail the effects I could gain after surgery and the things I could not, so I had nothing more to ask. I was scared it would hurt, but I took one Tylenol only that evening and slept well. The doctor also explained everything in detail right up until just before the surgery and made me feel comfortable, so I was grateful. Plastic surgery has become so common that even middle school students get it, but personally I tend to avoid excessive plastic surgery. They did not recommend all kinds of things at all. Rather, since I was doing it anyway, I asked about asymmetric eye surgery, and they discouraged me, saying it did not seem to be enough to need surgery. Since normal skin was cut and attached, of course there will be a small scar, but it is healing faster than I expected for my age, and even if a slight mark remains, I think it is much better than before. After improving the part that had been a complex for several decades, even if it is something only I cared about, I gained confidence and am very satisfied. Thank you! ;)
