Foreign-body sensation from autologous rib cartilage?

For me, the foreign-body sensation disappeared after about 3 weeks? I think it depends on the person. Right now I don’t feel anything at all!

[@] Oh! That’s a relief I heard there are cases where people remove it early because the foreign-body sensation is so hard to deal with I was curious how bad it is Were you very uncomfortable at first when talking or making facial expressions?

[@Uiopljhnk] When I opened my mouth wide or smiled, my nose felt tightly constricted, so my expression looked a bit awkward. But it wasn’t a foreign-body sensation to the point of considering removal.. The clinic also said foreign-body sensation can be present for about a month!

It’s not like I feel a foreign-body sensation when I’m just sitting still, and from the outside it looks the same as a normal nose, you know? But when I touch it, my nose is freaking hard To exaggerate a bit, it feels like my nose is like an ankle bone?

I’m on day 5 now, and I don’t really have any foreign-body sensation

[@Uiopljhnk] Today is day 35! There’s nothing awkward when I make expressions, and even when I laugh big, I don’t feel a foreign-body sensation! But if I deliberately make an expression that stretches the philtrum? it does feel tight

Mine is donated costal cartilage, and maybe it’s because it’s only been 2 weeks, but the foreign-body sensation is so severe... It’s not just like, “Oh, there’s a foreign-body sensation,” it’s uncomfortable So I even booked a consultation about removal

[@푸딩코수술] Where did they use the donated costal cartilage? Was it used on the nasal bridge and nasal tip by any chance?

I guess it really depends on the person.. It’s been 8 months for me, but the foreign-body sensation and pain haven’t gone away, so I’m having it removed....

[@파주스] Where did you have it placed? I think I’ll have it placed in the columellar strut and under the nose kind of in an L shape.. I wonder if it’ll be really uncomfortable

[@Uiopljhnk] I had it placed as a support strut! But I guess there are quite a few people like me; someone who had it done at the same hospital said they’re not removing it but lowering it with revision surgery...

[@파주스] By any chance, did you raise your nose a lot?

[@Uiopljhnk] It’s not even that high... It’s at the level where everyone is like, huh? This is causing problems because it’s high??
