I hadn’t been paying much attention to my sunken or hollow upper eyelids, but a high school friend I met after a long time looked at my eyes and asked if I had done something because my eyes had changed. As I listened, I realized it wasn’t meant in a good way. When I said I hadn’t done anything, she was surprised and asked why the flesh above my eyes had become so hollow. Since then, I started wondering if looking older these days was because of the hollowing above my eyes, and whenever I looked in the mirror, that was all I could see. I always looked tired and aged. It wasn’t extremely severe, but it looked worse directly under lighting, which stressed me out. After several months of searching and thinking, I had my first fat grafting surgery to the upper eyelids in early January 2023, and then had a second session in July.
After visiting 4 to 5 clinics, I chose Mozart after considering the price and whether a second session was possible. After several clinic consultations and looking at photo cases, I knew my upper eyelid hollowing wasn’t extremely severe, but I felt this was a matter of personal satisfaction, and I really hated seeing the hollow line above my eyes. Mozart extracted fat from the upper outer thigh area near the groin and grafted the fat using a cannula. It was done under sedation anesthesia, and they said injecting the fat would be over quickly. I was worried that using frozen fat for the second session might cause fat lumping, but decided to see my progress after the first session before deciding whether to do the second. After surgery, the bruising seemed to last about two weeks and then gradually faded, and the swelling above the eyes lasted longer. When there was swelling, my eyes, which were already not big, looked even smaller as a side effect. I was satisfied that the hollow line above the eyes was not very visible, but aesthetically, I’m not sure they looked prettier than my previous eyes either. Recommended for people with very severe upper eyelid hollowing! If not, it’s so-so! After about 4 to 5 months, the hollow line seemed to show again, so I decided to do the second session. The bruising and swelling were not severe for the second session.
The condition of my eyes about 2 years after the first session is that they are not as sunken as before, but there is still some hollowing. When the fat was grafted with a cannula, the cannula was inserted at a fixed point beside the eye area, so it felt like the fat could not be grafted exactly where I wanted it, meaning the area that was hollowed the most. No side effect of fat lumping. That’s all.
