One-Year Review of Chin-Tip Surgery for a Receding Chin: The Change Feels Clearer in Photos

After deliberating over my receding chin for a long time, it has already been a year since I underwent chin-tip surgery. At first, I wondered when the swelling and bruising would go down, but now almost all the swelling seems to have subsided, and the changed chin shape feels much more natural. At present, I’m living comfortably, without much difference from last month. I have no major difficulty eating or talking, and I rarely notice the surgical area in daily life. I’ve gotten used to my changed appearance, so my face now feels natural to me. I can see a difference in the mirror, but when I take photos and compare them with before surgery, the change is much clearer. Since only the chin tip was operated on, I don’t feel that my overall impression has changed dramatically, but looking at old photos, I can tell that the chin shape is different. Personally, the improvement seems more noticeable from the side than from the front. It isn’t a change everyone around me would notice, but I wanted a natural result, so I think this amount is just right. I used to worry that my chin looked underdeveloped from the side, but now that the chin line has been defined, my facial balance feels better than before. Looking back after a year, the biggest thing I notice is how it gradually became more natural over time. At first, the swelling made my face shape feel unfamiliar, but once it slowly subsided, the before-and-after difference became clearer. I’m now living without major inconvenience, and I’m especially satisfied that my side profile has improved.
