I’m now a little past being an egg tray old I had orthodontic treatment in my late high school years, but ever since I was young I had malocclusion and my mouth stuck out noticeably It was hard even to bite through one serving of naengmyeon... my jaw would make clicking sounds I didn’t seriously feel the need for orthodontic treatment, but for some reason I can’t quite remember I went to the dentist, and he told me that I’d come at just the right time before surgery, and that if I had come any later I might have had to go for double-jaw surgery. That was what the dentist said at the time.. He said my jawbone had worn down a lot. Even now that the orthodontic treatment is finished, my jaw still sometimes clicks or hurts a bit from time to time. My teeth are also very large and there was no space, so I had orthodontic treatment that involved extracting four healthy teeth and pushing everything back I had them removed before starting university, so it took about a year? Maybe a year and a half My mouth has gone in a lot, and people who knew me when I was young say I’ve become much prettier But I had treatment with a removable retainer, and when I looked at other friends there was a retainer attached on the inside. If I had known that existed, I would have chosen that I wore it consistently for three years, and after that I only wore it when sleeping at night. But for the past few years I thought I didn’t need to wear it, so I didn’t wear it The corrected bite had drifted back into a slight malocclusion, so at another dental clinic they made me a removable auxiliary device just to preserve it at least a little, and I’m wearing that again only when sleeping... By genetics, my lower front teeth were curled inward in my dental alignment I straightened them out, but when I stopped wearing the retainer they curled inward again, into a V shape ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ For those who’ve had orthodontic treatment, I hope you wear an inside retainer or at least make sure to wear it every night when you sleep ㅠㅠ It doesn’t mean the teeth will never move back at all if you wear it (they said it’s because our bodies tend to try to return to the original state) But it seems to keep about 90% of the result? I wasn’t doing it for cosmetic reasons but for treatment, so honestly I’m satisfied even with this :)
