1. Reason for surgery I decided to have surgery because I was mentally worn down by foreign-body sensation + pain + occasional redness at the nasal tip + deviation, and I was anxious that it might be contracture, plus I couldn’t go about daily life normally.
2. Why I removed only the silicone I was afraid of losing volume because I naturally had a wide, low-tipped bulbous nose with a lot of fat.
3. Swelling management Because I had to go back to work right after surgery, I took Triptline + Venosin + Bruna for 2 weeks + Ellase A for 2 days, and I did not drink pumpkin juice except for what the hospital gave me (the swelling effect is really great!) Also, the doctor gave me a steroid scar/swelling shot once at 1 week and once at 2 weeks while continuously checking my progress.
4. Surgery I asked the doctor to make the nasal tip naturally without making it pointy, and since my nose is long, I said I didn’t want it to look longer. I asked to keep the nose line the same and only refine the tip. During surgery there was no inflammation, and they said they removed all the prior scar tissue and a lot of fat. Some of the capsule was removed.
5. First surgery When I had the silicone surgery, I had 4.5 silicone and septal cartilage binding. My original nose was crooked and the nostrils were uneven too; it still is now, but it doesn’t stress me out much.
6. After surgery The foreign-body sensation, deviation, and headaches are gone to the point that I don’t even remember them, but there is a little sense of loss on the bridge? so I do want to get filler. The tip was redone with ear cartilage anyway, so apart from the silicone being gone, the nose discomfort feels about the same. Still, because of the fat removal and alar reduction, my nose became much smaller and the line looks prettier, so I’m very satisfied. The doctor checked my progress today and said the swelling still needs to go down more I’m worried it may get lower than this.
I wrote this a bit chaotically, so if you have questions, leave a comment! I got a lot of help when things were hard, so I’m writing this to help others too.
