I had LASEK at age 24. I had never worn contact lenses before in my life, and I only lived with something like allergic rhinitis.
Myopia -4.5 / Astigmatism 0.75 Corneal thickness: 640~50 (the optometrist said it had been a while since they had seen someone with thick corneas in the last 3 years.)
My eyes were good for surgery, so everything except lens implantation was possible. I chose LASEK, which is said to have fewer side effects, and among those, I had Two-Day LASEK.
Until the 2-month mark, my eyes only stung a little when I put in eye drops, and I didn’t feel that my eyes were dry. So I used artificial tears only about one a day or once every two days. Up to this point, I thought I had done well getting the surgery, but
around the 4-month mark, when cold wind started blowing and I went somewhere with a heater, my eyes felt cold and tears kept streaming down. It is still ongoing now.
If there are people considering vision correction surgery, I hope you don’t only look at successful cases and check side-effect cases carefully too.
If I could go back, I would never get vision correction surgery again.
