It’s two days before I reach 2 months after removal. I thought my worries about my nose would be over once I removed it, but it’s one hurdle after another. I didn’t know the contraction phase could be this severe.
The contraction phase started between 2 and 3 weeks after removal, and my nose lifted and shortened so much that even other people could see it looked upturned. It literally looked like my nose had been cut in half. Then by the evening it came back down, so I thought, “I guess this is just the beginning,” but that wasn’t even the beginning. Now it’s common for my nose to shrink and stick together, becoming a mummy-like triangular nose, and even when I do warm compresses, only my nose turns red and it doesn’t go back, so I’m really anxious. I’m worried that if this continues for several days, it might settle into this mummy-like nose. I don’t think it will, but I’m so anxious. My original nose was slightly long, but now it has become short and blunt. They say that once the contraction phase ends, it returns to something like the original nose, but I can’t see that length right now ㅜㅠ Also, why has my columella gotten thinner?
From reviews, I had seen that the contraction phase would be the worst in months 2 to 3, and if long, could last beyond 4 months, so I was mentally preparing myself, but it’s so severe that my emotions are fluctuating a lot. Someone said they were still having contraction even at 8 months. Seriously, oh my god ㅜㅠ My nostrils also shrink, and when it’s severe, they sometimes become thin straight lines. I wonder if the inside of my nose is contracting too, because breathing is a bit harder, and on some days the left side is blocked, on other days the right side is blocked, alternating.
There are several kinds of contraction-phase noses. Sometimes it’s just a normal-looking nose but lifted. Sometimes it shrinks. Sometimes it looks cut in half... It changes into various shapes.
The itchiness in my nose from before has stopped now, but the stiffness and hardness in my nose still remain.
The bruise on the nasal tip... it’s still faintly there. Will it actually go away? The clinic says they’ve never seen someone with this kind of bruise remaining continuously and told me not to worry, but I won’t be the first person, right?
I took Rizaben for one month and stopped, and the clinic said it was a medication they gave me because it could help me, not because it was essential. After taking Rizaben, I had such severe hair loss that when I grab my hair, it feels like half of what it used to be. It was falling out in clumps. After I stopped, from the very next day my hair started falling out less, so I thought it must be a really strong medication. It also makes you extremely tired when you take it.
Because my nose was shrinking and lifting, I searched through every review I could find. I saw that many people experienced the same symptoms and most recovered, but among them there were also some people who did not recover. People whose noses became shorter and blunter. I’m so distressed, wondering if I’ll become one of them.
And!!! For removal reviews here that are from before the two-month mark, you should assume that is not the final nose. My nose changed after one week and after one month following removal. It becomes lower and the shape itself changes. I decided on a clinic after seeing a 9-day review here, but after removal, as time passed, I thought, “Oh no.” Reviews from about one week or one month after removal should just be used as reference. Reviews from such a short time after removal are closer to a surgically enhanced nose, so of course they can only look pretty. That’s why people say it’s between the original nose and a surgically enhanced nose. As time passes, it gets lower and spreads. After several years, you should assume it may come down as much as the original nose, or even more. Most long-term reviews are like that. This is the fact. If you look at the popular reviews above, almost all are reviews from within one month. Everyone hopes for their original nose, but also hopes it will look prettier, so of course those kinds of reviews get attention. But that is absolutely not the end.
I’m doing warm compresses and half-body baths because they say they’re good, and as for the massage where you stroke the nose downward, I’m scared that later the nose might not come down appropriately and may come down even more, so I only do it very occasionally when it’s really severe.
Will I be able to write a hopeful review at month 3 next time..? ㅜㅠ
