Still, I sometimes come here to look up postoperative care methods and I’m still getting a lot of help. As a beginner having surgery for the first time, this community was really helpful before and after getting rhinoplasty, so I’m also jotting down my 4-month review in case it helps others haha Before surgery, I looked into things quite a lot in my own way and worked hard going around for consultations before choosing this surgery, but the pain after surgery... swelling.. bruising... ugh... if I were told to do it again, I don’t think I could lol When will the swelling and bruising go down, when will it look natural... worry, worry, anxious, anxious..... Since I lived with a mirror in my hands all day, some days I thought it turned out well, but other days I’d think, should I have gone a little higher? And on other days, is it too high? After going through my mind changing back and forth several times, somehow it’s already almost been 4 months. Before surgery, when I read reviews from people who had their noses done, they said time is the answer, time will fix it, and really, as time passed, the nose that looked big from swelling after surgery became natural, and as the swelling went down, it got slimmer day by day. The awkward feeling when looking in the mirror also naturally became something I got used to. Before surgery, my nose was low, blunt, and from the front it looked slightly upturned. Ever since I was young, people said my nose was the ugliest part of my face, a chubby nose ㅠㅠ My nose was my biggest complex. My surgical goal was to have a slim, naturally defined nose, and rather than making it too high or dramatic, my goal was a nose that naturally suited my face well. I emphasized this a lot from the consultation onward. When the director showed me photos of other people’s surgeries, he showed me a nose line that was exactly to my taste, so I wondered how he knew my mind so well; from the consultation with the director, it felt like everything clicked haha On the day of surgery, I was so nervous that while waiting before lying down on the operating table, I even teared up a little. I’m such a scaredy-cat and the type to worry a lot about small things, so I guess I was anxious, thinking what if the surgery goes wrong. From the consultant who counseled me, to the nurse, to the director, they probably really had a hard time calming down this scaredy-cat and doing the surgery haha For the surgery, I had silicone placed in the nasal bridge, and the nasal tip was done with septal cartilage + ear cartilage. I’m not exactly sure how many millimeters of silicone were inserted, but it seems to have come out well according to the height and line I wanted, so I’m generally satisfied. Right after surgery, because of the swelling, my nose looked big, so I wondered, is it too high? But as the swelling went down, the line started to come out slim and natural. It seems to have become similar to the line I wanted before surgery. From the front, the nasal tip that used to look upturned also came down a lot after surgery. After surgery, when the splint and taping were removed, it was really so swollen that it was hard to look at ㅠㅠ Since I’m the type who swells easily, I was really worried because everything from my nose to my face was puffed up tight, but every time I went to the clinic, the director checked carefully and comforted me a lot when I felt anxious because of the swelling. What I felt after surgery is that, of course, being good at surgery is important, but how well the director who performed the surgery manages things afterward also seems important. For me, after surgery, while receiving aftercare, my trust in the director really increased even more.... I was worried because I was very swollen, and when I was concerned after surgery about whether the nose height or shape had turned out properly because of the swelling, it really helped my recovery that he gave me confidence in the surgical result and paid attention to me. There may be many hospitals that are good at surgery, but how many places have the director who performed the surgery manage and care for you until the end afterward? In that regard, I really think I chose the clinic well... Anyway, as I wrote, the post got too long.
