I did lingual orthodontic treatment for both my upper and lower teeth, and for appearance-related reasons, I chose lingual instead of labial braces. Because the braces aren’t visible on the outside of the teeth, there are definitely advantages, but there were several issues, so if I were to do orthodontic treatment again, I think I’d have to think hard about whether to choose lingual. It’s relatively expensive, dental care is inconvenient because the braces are on the inner side of the teeth, and the tongue rubs against the braces and hurts a lot at first, etc. There are several disadvantages, but they weren’t major problems for me. The biggest problem was pronunciation. There were definitely pronunciations I couldn’t do perfectly even when I paid attention while speaking, and personally, English pronunciation especially felt like hell. If you’re considering lingual orthodontic treatment, I think this is something you should consider carefully.
