Before <before surgery> After <after surgery> I had rhinitis, a hump, a nasal tip that drooped too much, deviation, and I hated how blunt it looked, so I started looking into nose surgery. Because my nose was too long, my whole face kind of looked long..? I think I wanted to change my impression a bit, so I tried to find a hospital that was good at assessing proportions.
I’d heard the nasal septum isn’t something to touch carelessly, so I worried a lot about functional rhinoplasty itself too, but I thought I should look at the plastic surgery director’s “experience”.. lol Someone who handles a lot of functional rhinoplasty and has also done a lot of surgery on men.. lol I thought I should find that kind of director.
I had the surgery at ㅂㄴㄴ, and the swelling is still going down. I was told I need to keep watching it for the residual swelling to go down. When I went for a follow-up, I was told the surgery went well and that my breathing would keep getting better. lol
There were exactly 2 factors in deciding on the hospital.. Kindness, reviews When I went for consultations, if they were too curt or seemed to give me a rushed look, I just crossed them off. I’m paying my own money and getting surgery myself, so I didn’t want to feel bad every time I visited the hospital.
Of course, you have to look at reviews.. I think I compared before-and-after photos reasonably and checked whether they could create the line I wanted. I spent my recovery period while attending university. lol Honestly, it was so hard ㅜㅜ I went in with the mindset that I’d go to school even with the splint on.. but I couldn’t do it. Being conscious of people looking at me was one thing, but I was just so uncomfortable. Looking at my laptop. lol This is not something you can do.. Just don’t think about having surgery while going to school like me; do it after the semester ends like other people..
I had 4 mm silicone inserted, and because my nasal septum was insufficient, donated costal cartilage was mixed in. I had two types of functional rhinoplasty, so keep that in mind if you’re curious.
