7 years ago, when I was in my mid-20s, I didn’t know much and went with a friend for a double-eyelid consultation. I found out that hospital specialized in cheekbone reduction, looked up reviews, and since people changed dramatically, I also got a cheekbone consultation.. They said it wasn’t regular cheekbone reduction but mini cheekbone reduction, so they didn’t place pins and it was a simple surgery..ㅋㅋ So I ended up getting mini cheekbone reduction surgery together with my friend.. It was done under general anesthesia, and from the moment I woke up after surgery, my throat felt like it was burning and it hurt so much that I cried thinking I shouldn’t have done it. I spent a month crying because my face was in a serious state from swelling + bruising. But even after the swelling went down, my mouth didn’t open well, and my left cheekbone bone hadn’t fused and was separated..? I went back to the hospital where I had it done for a consultation, and they said they needed to put in metal pins haha So I went through that pain, surgery, and swelling time again.. But slimming one cheekbone didn’t change my face..ㅋㅋ (Actually, it didn’t even slim down dramatically.) From around my late 20s, my facial fat started sagging, my face became peanut-shaped, my nasolabial folds got deeper, and I even developed jowls..? After worrying and worrying, by my early 30s it became serious, so I went to a dermatology clinic and told them my concerns. They said skin sagging is a side effect that comes to 100% of people who have bone-shaving surgery.. You have to manage it for life. So I’ve had Ultherapy + Thermage twice, and I also got nasolabial fold filler.. I was scared of rhinoplasty so I hadn’t done it all this time, but bone-shaving surgery is no joke either.. I hope no one does it lightly. I’m still regretting it.. If I could go back, it’s a surgery I’d never want to do again. + My friend who also shaved her jaw back then has a straight line where her neck and jaw connect..
