This is a review from around 4 months after having alar reduction at Unimedi.
I do have a nasal bridge, but when I take photos, my nose especially looks wide, and for over 4 years I kept thinking that I wanted to reduce it just very slightly, so I eventually had surgery at Unimedi. The reason I hesitated about surgery was that I didn't completely dislike my nose, so I was worried that touching it unnecessarily could ruin my impression, and that it might not be reversible.
I also worried about what if, even if it were reversed, it ended up looking like an artificial nose(?). As a result, I am extremely, extremely, extremely satisfied!!!
From the front and side, I already had a nasal bridge, so it didn't have a strongly blunt look. But I was bothered that my nose looked very wide when I smiled. In person, it didn't bother me that much, but in photos it looked especially wider and I disliked the feeling that my nose looked lower. I wanted to improve the way my nose spread a lot, while not looking like I had surgery ..... lol I made a difficult request like that and was really worried, but it changed my impression just slightly without being excessive! (The parts I was most worried about were ending up with a pinched nose shape + my nostrils becoming too small and making it feel hard to breathe + looking too obviously surgical)
I have a columella, so I had columella lifting + three-dimensional surgery, and if you're interested, go get a consultation. The consultant explained everything in great detail haha
The stitches were clear thread, so unless someone looked closely at my nose, they didn't show much, but I had to be careful when smiling or opening my mouth, so there was a bit of discomfort. For me, the columella area kept feeling like it wasn't my own skin, so until a little over a month, it was uncomfortable to blow my nose the way I normally would! From about two months, it became completely natural and really became my nose lol
There is a scar, but unless you pay attention and look at that area, it doesn't bother me much. I was a little sad that no one around me noticed, but that means it really turned out very natural haha If I don't say anything, the scar is of course not noticeable either.
If you are worried that alar reduction might be overdone, that your impression might be ruined, or that there might be side effects, go for a consultation at least.
I only touched it slightly, but the part I had worried about improved, so I'm happy !!!
