Before< These are pre-surgery photos. (No. 1~3)><Photo from the day after suture removal.><Day 10 photo.><About 3 weeks post-op.><About 50 days post-op.><Recent photos, about 4 months post-op. (No. 8~10)>As you can see from the before photos, I had typical small, button-like eyes. Not only were the eyeballs themselves small, but I also had mild ptosis, and the Mongolian folds covered much of the lacrimal caruncle, especially in my right eye. I disliked that my impression looked stuffy and that I looked immature compared with people my age, so after browsing reviews in this community and other community sites, I decided to have surgery. In that process, I narrowed down a few skilled directors in my own way, and because I am male, I paid particular attention to doctors known for designing natural-looking styles. In the end, I decided on ㅇㅇㅋ Plastic Surgery in Yeoksam-dong, had a consultation, and underwent surgery about 5 days later. I saw many people say it is reasonable to get consultations at several places and compare them, but since I live outside Seoul, it was quite difficult to coordinate consultation dates and times in one day and go around to different clinics. Honestly, I also thought that even if I consulted multiple directors, the overall framework would not differ much, so I decided on surgery after consulting only at the ㅇㅇㅋ Plastic Surgery clinic I liked most. The clinic was smaller than I expected, and there is only Director ㅊㅁㅅ. The director’s style is to reasonably distinguish and explain what is possible and what is not. The consultation was conducted by calmly explaining what the patient wants, whether that would be suitable and fitting for the patient, and what surgery and style would match the patient’s eye characteristics and skin characteristics, then receiving and answering questions. I repeatedly closed and opened my eyes while asking and answering questions about how certain styles would look, and after putting all of that together, the consultation ended. In my case, my eyeballs themselves are not large and I have mild ptosis, but my eyelids do not have much fat, the shape and angle of the lacrimal caruncle are fairly normal, and since the distance between my eyes was wide to begin with, he said that even doing a fairly large epicanthoplasty would look natural. He said lateral canthoplasty or lowering canthoplasty were not particularly necessary, and especially did not recommend lateral canthoplasty because it often reattaches. The surgery took about 1 hour and 10 minutes, and I revisited the clinic on day 5 to have the sutures removed. Until the sutures were removed, I took the prescribed medication, applied ophthalmic ointment, and continued cold compresses. At the one-month visit, they took after photos, checked my progress, and I received a scar injection at the epicanthoplasty area. Now, about 120 days later, people around me say my impression has become much gentler and brighter. In the early period after surgery, I had stiffness and glare, but as the director said, those gradually improved, and now I have no problems at all. Above all, I think the biggest advantage is that opening my eyes has definitely become more natural and comfortable.
