[Doctor A] <Clinic atmosphere> I went for a consultation right when the clinic opened. The clinic is darker than I expected haha Overall, it has a deep gray tone and dim lighting
I visited as soon as the clinic opened in the morning, and although it was mid-January, there were not many people. (I think the people having surgery probably booked from October and had their surgeries as soon as January came.) Most people seemed to have come with a guardian, and there were about 4 or 5 patients only! I arrived earlier than my appointment time, waited about 5 minutes, and then had the consultation right away.
After going in, I filled out my personal information, how I found out about the clinic, and the budget I was considering. I also filled out a survey about surgery history and medication use, then waited for the consultation.
<Staff> Overall, the atmosphere felt fast and efficient. Some staff were kind, and some were a little sharp. The person taking eye photos... haha
The person guiding me to the director consultation looked like they were angry. I must have heard something wrong, but the atmosphere was intense... haha
<Consultation manager> They looked like an actor. Their tone was very gentle and kind, which I liked. Before the consultation with the doctor, they asked whether I had received consultations at other clinics. (For people who had not, they explained the types of double eyelid surgery and the general methods.) If you have reference photos, you can show them at this point, and if you explain the line you want, canthoplasty, surgery method, and the overall look, they describe it and pass it on to the doctor.
After the doctor consultation ends, they explain the price, anesthesia method, aftercare, A/S, and services. General questions were handled after the doctor consultation. (They kept asking if I had any questions before seeing the doctor too, but every time I asked something, they said they would explain it after the doctor consultation...)
They speak very quickly, like water flowing. They keep asking if you have more questions, but the consultation moves so fast that if you have anything you are wondering about, I recommend writing it down in advance or memorizing it. Really haha, it is fast.
<Doctor consultation> After going into the consultation room, you wait about 5 minutes and then the doctor comes in. The total consultation time was about 10 minutes.
They were much kinder than I expected. Both the consultation manager and the doctor were very kind, but everything moved very quickly. (If you lose track of the flow, you lose track of what they are talking about...)
When you go in, they look at the eye photos and talk about the overall eye impression. For the line, they divide it into natural and glamorous styles and recommend the surgical method for each. I was told that if I wanted a natural line, incisional-free surgery would be enough, and for a very glamorous line, incision plus ptosis correction would be needed. (They said that if the line becomes very high, it needs greater support, so in the case of an incision, ptosis correction is necessary.) However, they said that if the line becomes higher, because the eye skin itself is thick, the eye fat would bulge out. (If it were fat, it could be removed, but the issue is that the eye skin itself is thick, not fat, so there is nothing that can be done...)
I already have double eyelids, but the line near the inner corner is hidden, which made me look sharp, and they caught that right away from the eye photos. They said that I unconsciously use my forehead and brow muscles to open my eyes so the double eyelid line near the inner corner is not hidden, but since I do have enough strength to open my eyes, ptosis correction is not necessary. (I decided on a natural line right away and was satisfied, so I did not choose a glamorous line at all!) If I wanted the double eyelid line to be visible from the very start of the eye, I could do an upper canthoplasty, but that is optional, so I could decide after setting the line and looking at the eyes. They said that my current eyes are pretty, so they do not recommend making big changes (they are not pretty) and that just making the double eyelid line visible from the front of the eye would improve the sharp impression a lot.
I chose a natural line, and the actual line will probably be decided on the day of surgery. We tried out the line, but it was just the line without making a final decision haha They divided the line setup into 4 rounds. (Basic line, basic line + upper canthoplasty, slightly higher line, slightly higher line + upper canthoplasty) Rather than the doctor leading the consultation, they present as many options as possible (many surgical methods), and the patient chooses while setting the line. If you are going for a consultation here, I think you should go with a clear idea of the line or image you want. If you expect the doctor to just decide everything for you, the consultation itself will probably be difficult... haha T_T It is a way of opening as many directions as possible and choosing from them. It feels like a taste test,,,,,,,,, They set the basic framework first, look at the vibe, and then set the actual line on the day of surgery.
The director also kept asking whether I had anything else I was curious about or any questions!
<Price> About 1.8 million won for incisional-free surgery + upper canthoplasty (I do not remember exactly, but I think it was in the high 1.7 million to low 1.8 million range!) <Aftercare, A/S> If you have canthoplasty, you need to visit the clinic within 4 to 6 days to remove the stitches, and then return every 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year to check the condition. They said they would correct the line for free within 1 year.
<Deposit (90,000 won)> There was no pressure. If the price is burdensome, there are many other clinics near Gangnam Station that do surgery at lower prices, and there are other non-representative directors too, so they said I did not need to decide now and could take the card and think about it, then contact them later.
