Review of a low nose and nostril reduction (one week, one month)

At the beginning of the month, I had surgery for a low nose and nostril reduction. My nostrils were my biggest source of stress, so I had been looking into hospitals planning to do only nostril reduction. Since my nostrils were wide and the procedure had to be done with incisions, I focused on whether the surgery could be done so the surgical area would not be noticeable. I chose the clinic because the surgical scars seemed the least noticeable there, and during the consultation they said that if I only reduced the nostrils, it could cause strain later when raising the nose, so I raised the height as well. After surgery, I could feel that my nostrils had gotten smaller, so I was very satisfied. My nose also became much higher. The materials used were donated costal cartilage, ear cartilage, and silicone. I thought a lot about autologous costal cartilage, but considering the cost and because I needed a quick recovery, I chose donated costal cartilage. I made the choice knowing the downside of donated costal cartilage (high absorption rate), which the director explained well. The photos are from about one month after surgery. Since a lot of the swelling has gone down, it looks natural, but it is still uncomfortable because my nose pulls when I open my mouth wide or put force into showing my upper teeth. For the pulling sensation, I think I’ll have to wait for it to slowly improve over about 3 months. Overall, it looks natural, but the surgical effect appeared as much as I wanted, so I’m satisfied!
