My skin is thick, I have a nasal bridge, and my nasal ala are thick too, so all the doctors at the hospitals I went to for consultations said my bulbous nose would be difficult to operate on... ㅠㅠ I had heard so many times that even after surgery, a bulbous nose is still a bulbous nose, so I wondered, if it is going to stay bulbous anyway, is it right to spend this much money on it? But since my large nose had been such a complex since I was young, I went ahead with it as if clutching at straws.
To make a bulbous nose look smaller, they said the height has to be raised so the nasal tip looks slimmer, so they recommended an implant for me. But I was scared of side effects, and I am not particularly greedy about having a high nasal bridge, so I chose to do it without an implant. Of course, they said satisfaction could be lower without an implant, and that if an implant gives about a 10 in terms of bulbous nose correction effect, no implant would be about a 5.
But after surgery, I like it so much and think it turned out well... ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ If it looks like this without an implant, I wonder how small it would have looked if I had put one in... I do not really prefer a high nasal bridge, so even now it feels more than enough and a bit much for me. I think I did well not putting in an implant ㅎㅎ The nose size itself has not changed much, but as the nasal tip became gathered and more defined, the nose looks smaller. The doctor said that because my skin is so thick, I should expect it to take about a year and a half for the swelling to completely go down, but it has already become this slim, so I cannot even imagine how much slimmer it is going to get ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Maybe because I lived my whole life with a broad, spread-out nose, I am not used to it and part of me wants it to stop getting slimmer...
If there are people suffering because of a bulbous nose, or people like me who have a nasal bridge and thick skin with a bulbous nose, let me know if you have any questions. I searched so much before surgery that now I have become a bulbous-nose expert ㅋㅋ
The surgery method I had was slight hump trimming, bulbous nose correction (cartilage repositioning), and use of septal cartilage! They said that when raising the nasal tip, it can become an upturned nose, so they lowered the nasal tip slightly and slightly extended the septum.
