My protruding mouth kept stressing me out, but I heard it usually costs over 4 to 5 million won, so I made up my mind around the time I graduated from university. My protruding mouth was severe enough that anyone could tell it stuck out, and I chose the clinic through an acquaintance’s recommendation. The director and staff were all so kind, and the decisive reason was that I really liked the before-and-after comparison photos the dental clinic showed me, so I decided right away. Also, the director was very professional and confidently guaranteed the before-and-after changes, which made me trust it more.
I had 4 teeth extracted, and 3 screws placed in the upper gum. The screw placement was harder and more painful than the extractionsㅠㅠ They said it would take a total of 2 and a half years, and it ended up being almost exactly right. It’s now been about 1 year since I finished orthodontic treatment, and I’m truly very satisfied. When I look at my side profile in the old photos, the before-and-after difference is dramatically different. The downsides I feel after orthodontic treatment are that the 2 upper teeth visible when I smile are slightly spaced apart? A tiny triangle-shaped gap formed in the area where the gum connects to the teeth, so if I don’t pay attention while brushing, things easily get stuck there. Also, in the extracted areas (I had the 4 smallest premolars between the canines and molars extracted), food won’t come out if I don’t use an interdental brush. But personally, my satisfaction with the appearance is so big that I think the small inconveniences are worth putting up with.
