Since there were no major problems in daily life, I just lived with it, but when I went to get orthodontic treatment because my front teeth were too spaced apart, I was told that I had a protruding jaw and facial asymmetry, and that I had to choose whether to have two-jaw surgery or just correct the bite with orthodontics. That was when I first started thinking about two-jaw surgery! Honestly, rather than the protruding jaw, the facial asymmetry bothered me, so I decided to have surgery. My job involves standing in front of people, and in the past, when someone else took a photo of me, I was shocked because my chin was turned so far to the left, and after that I developed a complex about it ㅠㅠ Since two-jaw surgery is such a major surgery, I worried a lot, but my tooth roots are on the short side, so I was afraid that forcefully pulling the teeth might cause problems later + facial asymmetry + since I was young, I often heard that my face was big, that my lower jaw was large so I looked rough, and that I looked like a middle-aged woman. I added cosmetic reasons as well and decided to have the surgery! The reason I chose EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery was that since it is a major two-jaw surgery (facial contouring surgery), I definitely looked into oral and maxillofacial surgery rather than plastic surgery. While searching on YouTube, I felt that EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery was aesthetically satisfying, so I went for a consultation. The director who consulted with me was warm and kind, and seemed to prefer naturalness rather than pushing excessive surgery, so I decided to have the surgery haha Also, the hospital staff were so kind, and I was very nervous before surgery, but they were a big support beside me,,,,ha Two weeks after two-jaw surgery, I went to the hospital and had my stitches removed! I usually tolerate pain well, but when the stitches inside my upper lip were removed, I teared up ㅜㅜ It’s true that I did mouth-opening exercises while making an “oo” shape, thinking, “Swelling, go down quickly~” lol Honestly, at 1 month after two-jaw surgery, a lot of the swelling had gone down, and I could eat regular meals well!! At 3 months after two-jaw surgery, I’m eating meat comfortably, and these days I’m living my daily life without difficulty! As the swelling keeps going down, the hollowing in my cheeks is also improving haha I think it’s true that two-jaw surgery swelling continues to go down for 6 months to 1 year lol Time really is medicine!! Since my facial asymmetry has improved, I’ve gained confidence in smiling, so these days I smile showing my teeth. Before, I always covered my mouth when I smiled ㅜㅜ I think almost all sensation has returned. When I remember, I do mouth exercises, and it gets better, so I do mouth exercises every morning~ I’m looking forward to seeing how much swelling will go down at 6 months~
