Before<surgery before!>After<after surgery!>After<recovering now>Personally, I was really into reviews from people who used custom implants, so I wanted a nose surgery with fewer inflammatory reactions or issues! Since it was my first rhinoplasty, I thought getting the first step right would be important, so I narrowed down my footwork list and question list by looking through plastic surgery communities, cafes, and this community, and I didn't ask separately because so many people ask those questions if you search….There were soooo many opinions for vs against autologous costal cartilage for a first surgery… The reason I decided was: if I'm choosing a custom implant because I'm worried about inflammation, is there a reason I should take on donor costal cartilage too?
I thought about it for about a month and went to more consultations, seriously considering what would suit my nose and my face better,, and in the end, I went in the direction of using autologous costal cartilage! I also used septal cartilage together so the support would be good, reinforcing it firmly! What I was worried about after surgery was swelling and severe bruising, but the bruising wasn't as bad as expected and it was okay. There is some swelling though haha They said if you don't pay attention during the recovery week, you'll suffer for a long time, so I'm planning to try nose massage after a bit more time passes.. In the end, no regrets about the custom implant and autologous costal cartilage! Especially after harvesting autologous costal cartilage, I think you have to accept a certain degree of discomfort or pain yourself ㅜ.. Don't trust 100% when people say it doesn't hurt,,!! I took painkillers too!
