It feels like just yesterday that I impulsively got rhinoplasty because I had some free time while changing jobs before my previous previous previous previous job, but I can’t believe it’s already been 6 months since I changed jobs, so I just came to leave a review!!
There wasn’t anything in particular I told the director when we were planning the surgery. Instead, I said I just wanted something that suited my face well, looked natural, didn’t make the nasal tip look pinched, and only fixed the upturned nose.
The director suggested shaving down the nasal bones on both sides a bit instead of shaving the hump, but I was scared so I didn’t do it, and this is the part I regret a little.. If the director suggests doing something more than once during a consultation, maybe think about it ㅠ
The surgery was done with autologous costal cartilage + nasal tip, and they said they would remove the membrane from the rib cartilage? and place it over the tip. Later, the director also told me that because my skin is so thin, if the tip of my nose gets too red, I should have fat from the buttock area added to the nasal tip.
These days, when I come out and tell people I had my nose done, I get asked a lot if it hurt, but honestly I don’t think it was especially painful or miserable like what you see on YouTube.
At 6 months post-op, it’s barely noticeable, so a lot of people don’t know. There isn’t really anything uncomfortable... maybe just that it hurts a lot if I’m using my phone and drop it on my face..? That’s about it...
It’s not like I became dramatically prettier, but that outdated-looking vibe unique to an upturned nose is gone, so honestly I’m suuuper satisfied!!
Sometimes I think I should have done it sooner, and I often regret not shaving the nasal bones on the sides, but I’m thinking maybe I’ll try it when I get fat reinforcement for the nasal tip?!
