It’s been about 15 years since I had my thighs and buttocks done, and I think about 10 years since I had my upper arms done.
My legs weren’t thick overall; they were shaped like chicken drumsticks, with only the upper thighs bulging out. Even when I lost weight regardless of dieting, the shape itself didn’t change, so after worrying about it I ended up having surgery. They said that if I only did the thighs, the balance with the buttocks would be off, so I had the buttocks done together. I remember that quite a lot of fat was removed, so when I came home that day I felt nauseated and like I was going to throw up. Other details were so long ago that my memory is hazy, and now that 15 years have passed, since it was such a complex for me, I do think I’m glad I did it. But the areas that were definitely treated have lost elasticity and aren’t smooth. So when I wear a bikini or have to show my body like that, I do feel a little self-conscious. Also, before surgery my calves were very slim, but as I gained weight, since the fat didn’t go to my thighs and buttocks, it naturally went to my calves. My calves definitely got thicker. And when you see older people, their belly protrudes while their arms and legs get very thin, right? As I get older too, the areas where I had liposuction lose even more fat, so I do think that if they get even thinner, they might start to look a bit bad.
And for my upper arms too, I didn’t have much fat overall; only the upper part was bulging, so I had it done. But the arms have a lot of muscle, so for someone like me who doesn’t have much fat but doesn’t like the shape, there isn’t much difference before and after. Still, there weren’t any side effects or anything like that; it’s just that the shape didn’t change much.
Looking back after a long time, since those were areas I had a pretty big complex about, I live without caring much about things like stretch marks or skin not being smooth. But if I had done it just to become a little prettier, I think I might have felt a bit differently.
When I was young, I really did so many things without thinking much, and looking back, I do feel like it was all futile. Please don’t just think about becoming prettier for a few years; I hope you choose surgery with a long view of 10 to 20 years.
