I had nose surgery as soon as I turned 20, 5 years ago. I didn't know anything and decided on surgery after a consultation. Even at that time, the consultation was entirely with the consultant; I saw the doctor for less than 3 minutes at most. On the day of surgery too, I just waited for hours and then briefly saw the doctor.
