Before <before rhinoplasty> Before <before rhinoplasty> After <after rhinoplasty, at 1 month> After <after rhinoplasty, at 3 months> After <after rhinoplasty, at 4 months> After <after rhinoplasty, at 1 year> After <after rhinoplasty, at 1 year> For reference, to be exact, it has actually been more than a year since my rhinoplasty, and the reason I did not post a review before this was because I had heard that nasal swelling needs to be watched for as long as a year, so I held back and waited in my own way lol Honestly, I liked it even from the 1-month mark..^^ But people around me said plastic surgery really has to be observed for a loooong time, so I did not just settle either, and since it has now been more than 1 year and 4 months, I thought, isn’t this about the stable period? So I ended up writing this.
What I want to say as a tip to everyone who is planning to get rhinoplasty is I think it helps to know what kind of style you usually like and how you present yourself. I like dressing up in a glamorous way, and my makeup is also on the glamorous side. Compared to that, if you look at my pre-surgery nose, the nasal bridge was uneven, and it was neither high nor low, just a really ambiguous nose; even shaving it down with contour every day did nothing. So when I was looking into clinics, well.. I barely even considered places that raise the height so subtly that it almost does not show. ★★A place where there is a clear before-and-after difference, a place that uses costal cartilage well★★ I looked around with those standards. People who like glamorous noses probably know that almost most of them use rib cartilage. But with rib cartilage, I could use autologous costal cartilage or donated costal cartilage, and you know costal cartilage = directly connected to the director’s surgical skill, right? Because of that, I did not really consider clinics that mainly do primary surgeries only or newly opened clinics, and even though getting an appointment was a bit difficult, I found a famous clinic and had surgery there. (I think that was the right choice,,)
Since it has already been over a year, I do not remember the pain very well anymore.. But to say something that might be even a little helpful for everyone:
Pain from harvesting autologous costal cartilage - ★★☆☆☆ It hurt less than I expected. Just early on, after removing the splint, when I sneezed, the skin felt a bit pulled? From day 3 onward, there was not much to worry about. But you do have to be careful with running lol Rhinoplasty pain - ★☆☆☆☆ The rhinoplasty itself really did not hurt much,, Honestly, rhinoplasty is better described as uncomfortable rather than painful. Splint + cotton packing - ★★★★☆ This was the hardest for me,, When the cotton was in, I realized again, ah~ being able to breathe through my nose is such a thing to be grateful for ^^ And once the cotton and splint are removed, you really feel alive again. But this is only during the first week after surgery,, Looking back now, I also feel like it was manageable. (I’m lying. I’m satisfied now, so I’m not thinking about revision surgery lol)
To add a bit more, swelling going down differs from person to person, but honestly, as long as you did not do all kinds of surgeries at once and did not overdo it, by my standards, the major swelling seems to go down within a month. That is why I went around taking tons of photos at the 1-month mark too,, lol Back then I lived thinking I was pretty satisfied, but now that I think about it, my nasal bridge is definitely much slimmer now. After getting rhinoplasty, people around me have been telling me that I have finally found a style that suits my face, and I also think it was the best thing I did last year lol
I wrote this while thinking about what might be helpful for everyone, so if there is anything else you are curious about, feel free to ask~ I will answer everything within what I know.
