I spent over 10 years thinking about double-jaw surgery, and while looking for a hospital because I felt I should do it before I got any older, I found a hospital whose review photos I really liked. The consultation with the consultant was not great, but after consulting with the chief director, I decided right away. I trusted only his skills, paid the deposit immediately, and decided to have surgery. The long-awaited surgery day. I had the surgery and was admitted. Since I had read every review, I was prepared, but it hurt more than I imagined. But as soon as I woke up from anesthesia, they told me to get up on my own.. They didn’t even support me and said, “Ms. __, you slept too long. Please get up.” They told me to get up using my own strength. Honestly, I was thinking, couldn’t they at least help me up? I tried to tense my body and get up, but I just couldn’tㅠㅠ Wow, after several tries I barely managed to get up and went to the intensive care room. I still don’t understand why they told me to get up by myself.. Oh, and maybe because they didn’t give me a push-button PCA painkiller either, it hurt even more.. After surgery, I stayed in the intensive care room for 1 hour and then went to the hospital room.. Because it can be cold after coming out of surgery, they turn on something like a heater inside the blanket. But the tube where the heat comes out had come loose, so I gestured to the nurse and said it had come out, but the nurse was just looking at her phone and said it hadn’t. When I gestured again that it wasn’t right, she checked and, saying I’d be leaving anyway, grumbled and plugged it back in. I went to the hospital room, but it hurt so much, and I couldn’t tell whether the painkiller was going in or not.. And one night-shift nurse shoved the suction in so aggressively that my nose started bleeding everywhere.. It was a mess ㅠㅠ sigh Somehow I got discharged and went for outpatient visits, but it was really hard. I had already heard that aftercare was poor, but experiencing it myself, it felt so careless. After an outpatient visit, they didn’t even put elastics on the screws, so I once just took the KTX home without wearing elastics. At the time I wondered if they had intentionally not put them on, but that wasn’t it ㅡㅡ I’m fairly satisfied with the surgical effect, but another person complained that their lower face had been set back too much and looked disabled. Anyway, from what I felt, the hospital was a bit chaotic (there were many patients, and maybe the system wasn’t established, so it felt chaotic..), and I think the consultants and people answering the phone need CS training again (the older person was kind). It seems like a hospital where there’s nothing to expect except the chief director’s surgical skill. Even when I went for outpatient visits, they didn’t really pay attention to precautions, checking mouth-opening exercises, or things like that each time. It was just “Open your mouth, ah,” then “Go home,” and that was it. I heard other hospitals check things like whether you hold your mouth when yawning or whether you’re doing mouth-opening exercises, but this hospital didn’t have any of that, so I had to search the internet one by one and be careful myself.. It strongly felt like a factory. And except for the day after surgery, you can’t see the director. You can see him at 6 months.
