I’m a man, and I had rhinoplasty without implants, intentionally leaving a little bit of the dorsal hump. It came out naturally, so I like the line and the shape itself.
But the problem is that there’s a slight bone show-through? around the nasal bone area. Locally, maybe about 2 mm in diameter? I don’t know if the bone wasn’t shaved properly, but it protrudes a bit in a round shape and looks white. It’s not extremely noticeable to the naked eye, but when I look in the mirror.. it kind of looks like acne too.. Since it protrudes locally and looks white, it bothers me a bit.
I’m a college student, so I had surgery during summer breakㅠ Now the scar tissue and swelling are gradually going down, and my front-view photos have gotten better too, but this one protruding spot is really bothering me..
I thought I’d never have surgery again in my life, but because of this, I’m wondering if I should get an aftercare revisionㅠ But since I’m a college student, if I do it again this winter break, I’ll have to stay stuck at home again all winterㅠ And thinking about the swelling and scar tissue filling in again makes me not want to have surgery again.. My skin is also thick, so I’m the type who gets swelling and scar tissue easily..
Some might say it’s because I left the dorsal hump, but that’s not itㅠ Above the hump line that was left, there’s a round part sticking out slightly on its own lol
Since I originally wanted a natural look, I wonder if I should see this as part of that naturalness tooㅠ But somehow this also feels like a separate issue.
Haㅠㅠ I’m so torn. During winter break, I wanted to travel a bit, work a part-time job, and from next semester go around with the swelling gone..
More than anything, even if I have surgery again, opening up the nose again with an open approach just to shave this one tiny thing feels a bit.. If it were a complete revision rhinoplasty, maybe, but thinking about opening it up again just because of this one thing and then dealing with scar tissue or scarring makes me feel like maybe it’s not right.
I don’t know if it would be possible with a closed approach.. I drew a picture, and it’s exactly around that location.. The original clinic where I had surgery only does open procedures.
After exams are over and the semester ends, I’m going to visit the clinic.
If you were in my situation, what would you do? Would you see it as part of the natural look anyway, since I left the dorsal hump.. Or would you get revision surgery again, even if it takes time and leaves scars..
