Before <before surgery> After After After getting facial contouring, I got hooked on taking selfies and I’m on social media almost like an addict - I’m someone whose screen time shows 6 hours a day on Instagram alone - but honestly, it would be ridiculous to go around announcing everywhere on Instagram or KakaoTalk that I got facial contouring;; I feel like this community is the only place where I can write about this anonymously, so I’m leaving a review!
First, I’ll start by saying that I’m not someone who blindly praises facial contouring surgery, and I’m absolutely not trying to say, “It went well for me, so you all have to do it too!” I had so many concerns about my face shape ever since elementary school, when I really knew nothing, and after becoming an adult, I diligently saved up my part-time job money and went around getting lots of meridian massage and dermatology procedures....
I heard Shurink or InMode worked well for face shape, so I went in, but the consultant said I was still young, so why would I be getting lifting.... And in my case, she said it was a bone issue, so if I got lifting, my face could actually end up looking peanut-shaped, and she sent me away. Thinking back now, I’m really grateful to that clinic. It felt like she gave advice to a clueless young kid like a real older sisterㅋㅋㅋ
Anyway, what I did from time to time and actually saw some effect from was square jaw Botox (I went to get Xeomin every half year), and meridian massage? The effect is definitely there, but the downside is that it doesn’t last long. Too bad.... I was just living like that, and then one day Bank Salad showed me statistics on my spending habits, and I thought that if I had saved all the money I’d spent on meridian massage up to now, I might have had enough to get facial contouring ㅋㅋㅋ So from then on, I stopped meridian massage, scraped together every bit of money I could, and started looking into facial contouring.
Honestly, going as far as 3 procedures was a bit scary, and the cost was also the cost.... From the start, I began looking for hospitals with the thought, “Let’s not get greedy and just do 2 procedures.” Since people say you really have to put in a lot of online and offline legwork for facial contouring, I think I spent day and night only looking up hospitals. Among them, I narrowed it down to a few places that looked like they shaved the bone well in a dramatic style based on review photos, and went for consultations. About 3 places recommended that I get all 3 procedures? Those places were way over the budget I had in mind, and I didn’t feel drawn to them, so no matter how good the consultation was, I passed without looking back ㅠ I felt like if I didn’t cut places off firmly like that, choosing a hospital would get even harder later,,?
When I stated from the beginning that I wanted 2 procedures and had consultations, there were 2 hospitals that spoke very positively and said that 2 procedures would be enough to get a dramatic result. Among them, I decided on the hospital where I had surgery because the director had more years of experience and there were many surgery reviews. Personally, I really hate hospitals that give very kind consultations while subtly recommending one more thing after another, saying, “Do this, do that,” or “If you do cosmetic surgery together, we’ll add petite procedures at a lower price.” But the director’s style was really just saying bluntly what needed to be said and saying unnecessary things were unnecessary, so I felt it suited me well.
Anyway, I don’t even want to think back to the day of surgery and the next day..ㅋㅋㅋㅋ When I opened my eyes, I was extremely groggy because of the anesthesia, and meanwhile my throat hurt like crazy.. Even in that dazed state, I remember thinking, “Ah, this is the postoperative sore throat people talk about,” and kind of laughing bitterly to myself. I think it was around day 3 that I truly came to my senses and felt like I was okay? My appetite came back a little, and I at least had some will(?) to walk around.. Before that, I think I just slept like I was dead ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Except when sleeping, I wore the compression band regularly, keeping the intervals, and since my weight fluctuates a lot anyway, I lost as much as 4 kg during this period,, Honestly, more than the pain, not being able to eat balanced nutrients properly is the real tortureㅠ Ah, I realized once again that this really isn’t a surgery you should look into casually and just get. Still, since I had some cosmetic surgery experience, I had been all confident like, “Yep, I’m made for plastic surgery~,” so it became a chance to reflect on my past self ..ㅎ Still, when I look at the before-and-after photos like this, I definitely feel that getting the surgery was the right choice, and I absolutely don’t regret it..!
