Since I live overseas, I booked the surgery first and got the consultation and surgery done all at once. After my first surgery, I had liked my eyes, so I showed them my old photos and chose from a few lines they marked for me. I wanted something between an in-line and an in-out line, but they suggested doing an in-out line 2 mm higher than that, so I decided on that. After my first surgery, I felt the line gradually came down more and more over time. So I thought setting it a little higher didn’t seem bad either.
I only wanted the non-incisional method, so the consultation was simple, and then I went straight into the operating room, lay down, and they disinfected me lol They disinfect the whole face about two or three times, then disinfect just the eyes separately again! If you keep your eyes closed as instructed, the disinfectant doesn’t get in at all haha
Once disinfection is done, the director comes in, marks the design once more while I’m lying down, and then administers anesthesia. They gave three injections in the eyelid, then slightly flipped it and put in two on each side, but the needle was thin, so it didn’t hurt as much as I’d been scared it would.
After the anesthetic injections, they gently pressed on my eyes, and once the anesthesia took effect, the surgery started right away. I didn’t feel the stitching as much as I expected, and I thought it would give me chills, but it really wasn’t like that.
There were moments when I felt a slight pulling sensation.
Some people said they don’t like it when the director talks during surgery, but personally, it helped me relax, so I liked it.
But when talking, I did try not to laugh too much or move my face lol
It felt like it took about 10 minutes per side.
I kept my eyes closed, and when they told me to open them, I opened them briefly. Then they finished up again, and when they said, “It’ll be done in one minute~,” it really ended quickly lol
I did have uneven swelling, but honestly, I don’t know how they do the quick non-incisional method, but seriously, it barely swells... lol Honestly, I thought quick non-incisional was just a marketing gimmick, but I was surprised after seeing the swelling go down. After my first surgery, I think it took almost 2-3 months for all the swelling to go down, you know? But this time, after one week, the swelling looked like it had been a month lol Even now it has gone down a lot, so I’m completely satisfied :D
The swelling does go down unevenly, but I think the line was set really nicely too. I’ll upload photos too~ I hope everyone uses them as reference and succeeds with their double eyelid surgery!
