My eyesight was very bad and I also had severe astigmatism. Around -5. I hated glasses and only wore contact lenses, but my eyes kept getting inflamed, so I had surgery. Within less than a year after doing it, I developed double vision. The symptom of seeing objects as two kept getting worse day by day, so I went to the hospital, but they just said it wasn’t strabismus and only wrote me a referral to a university hospital.. They also prescribed eye drops, and they contained steroids, but they didn’t even explain how long I should use them. I only found out after talking with a nurse friend.
After that, I anxiously went around looking into university hospitals in Seoul and Gwangju, and searched for treatment methods. Now I’m living with laser treatment and eye drops, and the double vision keeps going back and forth between better and worse.
I regret so much that I didn’t look into the hospital enough and just had surgery with the person the hospital assigned me.
