There seem to be many posts asking about temporalis fascia surgery, but not many post-op reviews, so I’m writing one. I hope it helps!
I’m on day 5 after surgery using temporalis fascia and ear cartilage. First, the reasons I ended up having surgery with this method were: 1. I did not want to use foreign materials (silicone, donated cartilage, etc.). 2. I only wanted to raise the dorsum below the glabella by about 1-1.5 mm. 3. My skin is very thin. I had surgery using a method where the harvested temporalis fascia was rolled to create some height, and ear cartilage was added underneath as a graft. *I will not take questions about the surgical method. Please consult a specialist.
The temporalis fascia harvest site has throbbing pain and was closed with medical staples (8 staples). It is known to be a 2-3 cm incision, but in my case, the incision was over 4 cm. So far, I do not have hair loss symptoms at or near the surgical site, but I think I’ll need to keep watching the recovery process going forward. The ear cartilage was harvested from behind the ear, and as expected, there is continuing tingling pain.
