I heard that if my gums show when I smile, Botox would fix it, so I went. They asked me to smile, checked which side pulled up more, I think? and injected more in that area. It was over quickly in about 5 minutes, and there was no pain. But when you smile, the upper lip needs to curl inward to some extent to look natural, and since my philtrum and lips were fixed in place, it looked extremely awkward. It was actually more natural a few months later when the Botox effect wore off.
