Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

I came to write my 4-week double-jaw surgery review~

Before <pre-op photo> Before <pre-op side-profile photo> <photo on surgery day> After <2 weeks after surgery> After <4 weeks after surgery> This is my 4-week double-jaw surgery review

Why I decided on double-jaw surgery I had a protruding lower jaw and a long face, but when I took photos of my side profile, the midface looked sunken.. At first, double-jaw surgery was scary and expensive, so I tried to solve it with contouring, but I thought that if I actually did contouring, I might not see much effect and would end up looking into double-jaw surgery again later. So I did it with the thought that I should just get it over with quickly from the start. I didn’t have malocclusion and did it for cosmetic purposes.

Why I chose the hospital When people do double-jaw and facial contouring surgery, a lot of them worry about skin sagging. I was really worried a lot about this too. But as those who have seen Dr. SㅇS’s blog know, he’s extremely confident that he can prevent the skin from sagging. So I went into the consultation with high expectations, but during the consultation he said that for me, he would try, but some sagging could occur << other people said he confidently told them during consultation that he could prevent sagging, so they found it suspicious instead ㅠㅜ Still, he said he would make an effort, and that drew me in. So I trusted the doctor’s skill and just booked here haha

Day of double-jaw surgery I went up to Seoul without sleeping a wink. When I had general anesthesia, I passed out without even realizing I was falling asleep. When I opened my eyes because someone was tapping my shoulder, they said the surgery was all done haha. And double-jaw surgery was ☆much less painful than I thought☆ Later, when I came to my senses a bit, I took a photo, and my face had totally become Hoppangman and looked pitiful.. lol

Day 2 I just slept all day. I had no strength in my body. I couldn’t breathe through my nose, so I kept breathing through my mouth, but my mouth got completely dry, so it was really painful. Drinking water was hard too.. And I had to keep spitting out blood, so I wiped my lips with tissues, and my lips were already chapped from the surgery, so they stung so much.. Since there was nothing I could do, I settled for wetting them slightly with water ㅠㅠ I really wanted to brush my teeth too, but couldn’t, so that was hard as well.

Day 3 As I was discharged, I had to wear a wafer and was wired shut, so from then on I had to breathe only through my nose, and it was really hard. Really hard. I couldn’t breathe well through my nose, but absolutely couldn’t breathe through my mouth, so when my nose got blocked, I felt the fear that I wouldn’t be able to breathe. It’s important to prepare extra items that help you breathe well!

Day 4 to day 13 When I looked up other people’s reviews, they said breathing was hard for over a week, but for me, as soon as day 4 came, my nose miraculously opened up. From then on, I had no discomfort from breathing, for real. And for brushing teeth, the hospital gave me a product called a Waterpik, and I used it super usefully. I was so touched when they gave it to me ㅠ I hadn’t even thought of it. Also, as the major swelling went down, I could clearly feel my face getting smaller. At first, I was totally happy lol. Really, just from the side profile, the sunken midface was gone and the protruding lower jaw disappeared too ^^

Day 14 to day 27 On the exact day I hit 2 weeks, I went to the hospital and they removed 'only' the wire fixation on the wafer ㅠㅠ I was so excited about getting the wires removed that I couldn’t sleep that night lol. But my mouth wouldn’t open. I was so happy that I went to Bonjuk and tried to scoop porridge with a spoon, but not even 1 went in. I got a plastic spoon and tried to eat with that, but that didn’t goㅋinㅋeitherㅋ. I ended up miserably picking up one grain at a time with chopsticks at Bonjuk and leaving.. lol. When I tried brushing my teeth, even a children’s toothbrush barely fit inㅋ Still, by week 3, an adult spoon could go halfway into my mouth, so from then on eating became a bit easier. And I thought I had sensation everywhere until now.. The rest has sensation, but the front part of my upper gums has no sensation.. The director had told me before surgery that the palate side often gets sensory damage, but I was shocked because.. I had believed I could feel every sensation until now.... They say you watch sensation for 6 months, so honestly I’m not too worried about the nerves. And I had surgery accepting a certain degree of sensory damage anyway..

Current week 4

A lot of facial swelling has gone down. My cheeks are still puffy. And as you can see in the photos, my chin has become much slimmer, right?

And I don’t feel any skin sagging at allㅋ I also feel like it won’t come later either. Somehow I have a good feeling.

Nose? The nose.. collapses? I didn’t feel this at all. This was what I worried about next after skin sagging, but not at all..?

At 1-2 weeks after surgery, I couldn’t eat, couldn’t brush my teeth, and it was hard, so I said I wouldn’t recommend it, but now I’m satisfied haha. Later, after more than a year, I’ll come write another short review.
