Hi everyone, I feel like there aren’t many reviews from people who had surgery through the areola, so I’m posting mine. I originally wanted to upload photos of the incision area too, but since it’s the nipple area, and covering it would make the photo pretty meaningless ㅠㅠ I left those out for now.
As I wrote in the title, I had breast surgery with Motiva implants, and the approach was through the areola. These days, most people get transaxillary or inframammary incisions, right? The reason I chose the areolar approach was, more than anything, because I was worried about scars remaining directly on my body..
Honestly, before surgery I also thought, huh? Wouldn’t the areolar scar be worse? But once I actually went around to consultations, the scars from the inframammary fold or armpit were more visible to my eyes, and with the areolar scar, since the nipple color is darker than the skin color, it stood out less. *Ah!! But this doesn’t apply to every clinic.. I think it’s only okay if you get it done by a doctor with at least 20 years of experience and who is truly a veteran in breast surgery ㅠㅠ
For the size, I told the doctor, “I want large, natural-looking breasts,” and went with what the doctor recommended. We also decided to correct the size asymmetry during surgery. Personally, the advantages I feel with the areolar approach are.. recovery is fast like the inframammary approach, and there’s less worry about scarring than with the transaxillary approach. Of course, at first there can be redness and it may bother you, but as time passed, it became similar to my nipple color. Since the weather has gotten cold, it’s impossible right now lol.. but in summer, underboob outfits are totally possible.
I’ve had several skin procedures before and have been in and out of various clinics, but in terms of service and the doctor’s consultation, this was the place I was most satisfied with. I’m also happy because my breasts became naturally larger! Since the clinic is right in the middle of Gangnam, it’s a bit of a pain whenever I drive there.. haha. Still, whenever I arrived at the clinic, they treated me kindly every time, which I liked.
For everyone who, like me, is really serious about breast surgery, I strongly recommend thinking about it very seriously and even going through with the surgery. But I hope you go to 2–3 places for consultations and think it over carefully.
