It's been 11 months since I had cheekbone surgery. I was worried the pins might break, so I haven't slept on my side, haven't gotten extractions, have been extremely careful not to bump my face, and have been getting lifting every 3 months because I was worried about sagging. Still, I don't regret doing it. If I went back, I'd do it again, and I regret not doing it sooner. I'm living satisfied with my face shape. It ended up asymmetrical, and even though the 45-degree cheekbone wasn't properly reduced, I'm satisfied living with my side cheekbones gone. I had it done at a large hospital, and when I open my mouth, only one side sinks in like that. But I haven't asked the hospital about it. Please research hospitals carefully before doing it.
