Before before before after after after after This is my one-month review after my first rhinoplasty! My low bulbous nose had always been a huge complex for me, and I wasn’t satisfied with nose filler either, so I kept thinking about rhinoplasty and eventually had my first surgery at a plastic surgery clinic.
Since I’m the type to make decisions carefully, I did a lot of online research and in-person consultations. Because it’s a procedure on the face, and especially because I thought the nose was the area with the most issues such as side effects or revision surgery, I ultimately chose this clinic after considering the doctor’s sense of mission and responsibility.
Because my face is on the larger side, I wanted to draw attention toward my nose. I wanted the nasal height and angle to be glamorous, but the nasal tip not to be too pointy, and the doctor was also very confident, so I decided on this clinic.
From my initial online research and in-person consultations, I had a slight hump, and because I wanted a high, glamorous nose, the plan was to shave it down and raise the nose using septal cartilage, donated costal cartilage, and ear cartilage. Since I also had a drooping nose, the focus was on improving that, while lateral osteotomy or alar reduction were considered optional. But the doctor said my skin was on the firm side and my septum was slightly deviated, so rather than reinforcing with donated costal cartilage and septal cartilage, using autologous costal cartilage would be less likely to droop.
The basic procedures I was diagnosed for were correction of bulbous nose, columella, nasolabial angle, hump, drooping nose, functional nose issues, and filler dissolving / nasal bridge with silicone over 5 mm / nasal tip with autologous costal cartilage and ear cartilage / and that is how it was done.
As a one-month review, taking swelling into account, I’m satisfied with the nasal bridge line from the side, the nasal tip shape, and the glabella shape. From the front as well, the nasal bridge width and nasal tip shape came out the way I wanted, so I was very happy. From below looking upward, the columellar strut was not crooked either, which was good.
However, I do wish the nasal tip height were a bit higher (but they said this was the maximum because my skin is firm), and I’m slightly disappointed with the improvement of the drooping nose, so the nostrils being visible bothers me a little. But I was told this is swelling and will improve more with time, so I’m going to trust that and wait!
Based on the feeling I got after researching and visiting many places, I think it is absolutely impossible to make a nose that is 100% satisfying, and even being 80-90% satisfied means it was a success. Above all, I think the most important thing is that there must be no side effects.
In that sense, I think I made the right choice with this clinic, and even if I went back in time, I think I would lie down for surgery at this clinic again. ^^
